Chapter 180

Aurora settled into a corner of the sofa, scrolling through recent news on her phone, while Heath began a video conference next to her, talking about business expansion in the United States.

Worried about disturbing him, Aurora offered, Shall I go to my room if I’m being too loud?

Heath turned to her, asking, Are you going to change your clothes?

The executives in the video call were visibly shocked. The typically aloof CEO Heath Fairbank had a woman in his house?

Nodding, Aurora responded, Yes, I should change. The disinfectant smell from the hospital is quite strong on my clothes.

Heath agreed, Go ahead and change. We’ll leave for dinner once I’m done here.

Aurora obediently went to her room, and Heath turned back to his meeting.

The executives, still in shock, wondered if their enigmatic CEO had suddenly gotten married. One of them, a recent transfer to Fairbank’s corporation, hesitantly asked, Mr. Fairbank, are you married?

Heath, massaging his forehead, replied, No.

Relieved, the executives sighed. Their unpredictable CEO hadn’t made a sudden marital leap.

After the meeting, Heath knocked on Aurora’s door. She emerged, ready to leave, and he donned his coat, announcing, Let’s go eat.

They drove to the restaurant and settled into Heath’s usual private room. The dishes arrived, and Aurora, famished, began eating voraciously, not minding Heath’s presence.

Midway through the meal, Aurora remembered Heath had something important to discuss. You said you had something to tell me. What

is it?

Heath handed her a document, gesturing for her to open it.

Aurora flipped through the pages, her shock growing with every line. It was a contract for Fairbank corporation to invest in the Autumn’s Whispering Fan production!

Stunned, Aurora confirmed it was indeed for the drama Autumn’s Whispering Fan. You’re investing in the drama? Why?

Heath looked at her and said, Aren’t you using Zane’s investors to pressure the production? I’m adding some weight to your side.

Aurora was dumbfounded. What weight?

Heath pointed to the document. Fairbank Corp is now the largest investor in Autumn’s Whispering Fan, meaning I decide which actors

are used.

Aurora froze. This investmentis it to get Cheryl back on the project?

Not exactly,Heath shook his head. It’s for you. Whoever you want to cast is fine by me.

Aurora was moved to tears. Heath, with his immense wealth and timely support, was doing this for her!

Initially, she had gambled that the production would struggle without investment and be forced to bring back Cheryl and Zane. But now, with Heath’s investment, he essentially held the greatest influence over the production.

Cheryl and Zane could undoubtedly return to the project.

Holding the contract, a delighted Aurora asked, Aren’t you afraid of losing millions if the show flops?

Heath nonchalantly replied, No matter. Consider it a practice investment for you.

Aurora realized the extent of Heath’s power and wealth. She carefully put away the contract and began serving him food with renewed enthusiasm. Heath watched her joyous demeanor, pleased with the evening’s outcome.

Heath found joy in the simple fact that spending a fraction of his immense daily earnings on Aurora could bring her such happiness.

During dinner, Heath, with a smile, broached a topic, I heard you had a heated argument with the producer. Trying to prove who has more powerful support?

Aurora’s face flushed with embarrassment. She had spoken impulsively, not really intending to compete in influence. Without the backing of the Pendleton family, how could she ever match Evelyn and Yvonne?

Rory,he called her.

Hmm?Aurora looked up.

Remember, I am your strongest support,Heath said earnestly.

His gaze was intense and focused as he spoke, his words reflecting his genuine thoughts.

Aurora realized then that her confidence and assertiveness likely stemmed from a subconscious belief that Heath would always be there to support her.

Smiling sweetly and obediently, Aurora responded, Yes, I know.

After dinner, Heath drove her back to home. As she was about to get out of the car, Heath pulled her into an embrace and kissed her. Aurora pushed him away playfully and ran back into the villa.

She couldn’t pinpoint when exactly it started, but Heath’s habit of kissing her had become almost addictive for him. He seemed to lose control, seizing any moment he wished to kiss her. Despite her protests and calling him a rogue, his kisses only became more frequent.

The next day, the producer called Aurora, desperately pleading for her to have Cheryl and Zane return to the set.

Aurora laughed, Sir, it’s not that I’m uncooperative. But Cheryl has a concussion and Zane a stomach bleed. How can they return to work so soon? You should find someone else.

The producer tried to appease her, Ms. Pendleton! The leads are irreplaceable. No matter how long it takes, we will wait for their recovery before resuming filming!

Aurora questioned, But wasn’t Evelyn supposed to play the lead? What does that have to do with our Cheryl?

That’s not true! Who said that? The lead role has always been Cheryl’s! Just let me know when she’s discharged, and we’ll start immediately, the producer assured her.

Aurora replied, Since you insist, we can accommodate. Zane is almost recovered; he can start filming first. Cheryl might need a couple more days. No objections, right?

None at all! Please tell Cheryl to take her time and return only when fully recovered,he responded eagerly.

It wasn’t that he was overly accommodating, but the production had luckily secured a new investor. The only condition from the investor was the casting of Zane and Cheryl, and they were willing to include the cost of delay in their investment. He had no choice but to agree.

Whether it was Zane’s or Cheryl’s influence, money spoke loudest. With the new investment secured, everything else was negotiable.
