The next day, the production team of Autumn’s Whispering Fan officially announced that the lead roles would remain unchanged, starring Cheryl and Zane.
However, they retained Yvonne’s character, given that Evelyn Media had invested heavily in the project. After all, it’s not every day that someone brings funding to a production.
Aurora didn’t mind. She believed Cheryl could outshine Yvonne. As long as Cheryl returned, this was her home turf!
When Zane returned to the set, he spent a few days shooting scenes with the supporting cast. A week later, after the doctors confirmed Cheryl was well, she was discharged from the hospital and joined the filming.
The casting controversy had finally settled, and the production proceeded smoothly.
Aurora returned home to find both Evelyn and Maxwell there.
She smirked, “Oh? Big sister, not filming today?”
Evelyn glared at her. “Aurora! Stop gloating over my misfortune!”
Aurora raised an eyebrow. “Gloating? Oh, right! I forgot. Cheryl’s still the female lead. Weren’t you all high and mighty about joining the cast a few days ago? Why are you back so soon without any news?”
Evelyn rushed at her, pointing and shouting, “You little wretch! You’re not one to laugh at me!”
*Laugh at you? I’ll wait until you and Sophia are ousted from the entertainment industry and the Pendleton family. Laughing at you now would be premature,” Aurora retorted coldly.
Evelyn raised her hand to strike her, but Aurora blocked it, smirking, “I’ve told you many times, big sister, don’t get physical with me!”
‘You…” Evelyn was about to retort.
“Enough! Both of you, shut up!” Maxwell shouted, standing up and pulling Evelyn aside. “You’re adults. Constant bickering is unbecoming!”
“Maxwell! Are you even my brother? Didn’t you hear what Aurora said? She wants to drive me and Sophia out of the Pendleton family!” Evelyn shouted, tugging at Maxwell’s suit.
Annoyed, Maxwell shook off her hand. “Enough! Go to your room!”
“Maxwell! You coward! You’ll be driven out soon! Do you think the Pendleton family will tolerate you?” Evelyn yelled.
Maxwell slapped her across the face, sending her staggering.
Aurora was stunned. Although Evelyn was being unreasonable, did she deserve to be hit?
Evelyn, holding her cheek, let tears fall. “Big brother, you hit me?”

“Watch how you speak to me. Go to your room!” Maxwell looked furious, a stark contrast to his usual composed demeanor.
Evelyn ran upstairs, slamming her door.
Maxwell turned to Aurora with a sinister look. “Aurora, who’s the investor in the production?”
Caught off guard, Aurora replied, “I don’t know.”
Is it Heath Fairbank?” Maxwell pressed.
Aurora glanced at him. “What’s it to you?”
“Heath Fairbank’s investment concerns me!” Maxwell’s eyes darkened.
“Fine, it’s Heath Fairbank. What about it?” Aurora challenged.
Maxwell sneered, “What’s your relationship with him? Slept together yet? Is he spending millions for your amusement?”
Aurora frowned. “Maxwell, watch your language. Heath’s investments are his business, not mine.”
“Really?” Maxwell pulled out his phone, showing her photos: Aurora and Heath at the beach on New Year’s Eve, playing with fireworks, kissing, embracing, watching the sunrise.
Aurora snatched the phone, scrolled through the photos, then smashed it on the ground, grinding it underfoot. “Maxwell, you had me
followed?”

“Aurora, I’m just concerned about you. Heath is out of your league. Stop this nonsense, do you hear?” Maxwell said, looking at the broken phone.
“Maxwell! Who I date is my business! Try having me followed again and see what happens!” Aurora fumed. How dare he monitor her? He wasn’t her brother, to stalk and spy on her, and now brazenly warn her!
“Aurora! Stay away from Heath Fairbank!” Maxwell warned loudly.
“I won’t! Can you control it?” Aurora shot back.
‘Aurora, Heath Fairbank is dangerous. Stop this,” Maxwell pleaded, massaging his forehead, visibly agitated.
