Zane and Soraya rushed out of the grand hall immediately. They were supposed to have lines, but upon seeing the scene, they immediately dashed forward to try and catch them.

Soraya only had time to clear the obstacles on the ground. Cheryl and the male actor, Morrow, who played Cassian, brushed past her and crashed to the ground with a heavy thud.

Morrow, a moderately successful but talented actor from Skyline Entertainment, had instinctively protected Cheryl in his arms, cushioning her fall with his body.

An ambulance had already been called. Zane, trembling, picked up the unconscious Cheryl and carried her outside, murmuring, “Cheryl, Cheryl, hang in there…”

Blood stained Cheryl’s body. It was unclear if it was from the blood packets used in the scene or from injuries due to the fall, presenting a frightening sight.

Others carried Morrow and assisted Soraya into the ambulance to the hospital.

Yvonne looked petrified. Aurora, without a moment’s delay, followed to the hospital.

Who could have imagined that a routine scene, despite many successful wire stunts, would go awry, causing Cheryl and Morrow to fall so abruptly?

At the hospital, Heath urgently called Aurora, “Rory, where are you?”

“Cheryl is injured. I’m at the hospital with Zane,” Aurora tried to sound calm, not to worry Heath.

Soon after, the doctor emerged, “Nothing serious. Fortunately, they didn’t fall from too high. The gentleman has a fractured arm and a concussion. The lady only lost consciousness and should wake up soon.”

Aurora and Zane heaved a sigh of relief, thanked the doctor, and went to Cheryl’s ward.

In just a few months, Cheryl had been unconscious twice. Aurora wondered, was this an accident or something else?

Soraya entered, her right arm in a sling, dislocated from pushing the obstacles. If not for her, Cheryl and Morrow might have been more severely injured.

Aurora turned to her, ‘Is your arm okay?”

Soraya shook her head, looking at Cheryl on the bed, “How’s Cheryl doing?”

“Doctors say she’ll wake up soon, don’t worry,” Aurora comforted her, patting her shoulder.

Soraya approached, and Zane sat motionless by the bed, watching Cheryl as if fearing she’d disappear in the blink of an eye.

Soraya rested her hand on Zane’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, Zane. Cheryl will be alright.”

Zane patted her hand, “Yeah, she’ll be fine.”

Back at the set, Aurora stormed into the office, ignoring the staff’s attempts to stop her. She slammed Cheryl’s medical report on the table, ‘My people have had two accidents on this set! Two! Concussions! Who can tell me why the wire broke?”

Furious, Cheryl was more than a colleague to Aurora a best friend, confidant, and business partner. The thought of Cheryl being hurt again was unbearable.

“Ms. Pendleton, calm down. It must have been a crew error, a mishap with the wire rigging,” a staff member tried to soothe Aurora.

“A mere error? Cheryl could have died if the wire was higher! Who is responsible? Where are they?” Aurora was livid, picturing Cheryl lying in the hospital.

“Ms. Pendleton, Cheryl isn’t seriously hurt. And with so many handling the wires daily, who knows who might have accidentally loosened a buckle? Producer Quise, nonchalantly reclined, said.

To him, Cheryl’s fall was minor. He didn’t want Cheryl for the role initially, preferring Evelyn, who was charming and articulate, unlike Cheryl, who he thought was as expressive as wood.

Aurora laughed coldly at Producer Quise, “So Cheryl’s fine in your eyes unless she’s dead?”

“Ms. Pendleton! That’s an unfair accusation. Cheryl chose to act despite her frailty. Her fainting might not be the crew’s fault. It could be anemia, Producer Quise defended.

Aurora fixed her gaze on him, “How much did Evelyn pay you to look down on Cheryl?”

Producer Quise blinked guiltily, “What benefit? How does Cheryl’s injury benefit me?”

“You might not, but Yvonne does. I’ll investigate this fully, and we’ll see if it leads to Yvonne!” Aurora declared.

Producer Quise grew anxious. He had been favoring Yvonne, at Evelyn’s behest, and now feared Yvonne might have sabotaged the scene.

But he couldn’t ignore the perks from Evelyn, “Ms. Pendleton, words have consequences. Accusing Yvonne carelessly could damage our crew’s reputation. And you know who backs Yvonne; why make things hard for us?”
