over. Should we invite the investors back?”

“Just because we found out, it’s over? Yvonne targeted my person, and you think this matter is resolved?” Aurora’s fingers rhythmically tapped on the table.

“So, Ms. Pendleton, you mean…” Quise was uncertain.

“With Yvonne’s tax evasion scandal blowing up and her reputation ruined, shouldn’t Harmony have already frozen her out? Mr. Quise, do you still dare to cast her?” Aurora said.

“Ms. Pendleton, Yvonne isn’t with Harmony anymore, and regarding freezing out… I don’t have the final say,” Quise replied with a forced

smile.

Quise smiled awkwardly, pondering. He had received benefits from Evelyn, and outright removing Yvonne wouldn’t sit well with her.

“Ms. Pendleton, about Yvonne…” Quise began, attempting to plead with Aurora.

“Think carefully before you speak. Today, I turned Yvonne into a tainted artist over tax evasion. Tomorrow, I can do the same to Evelyn. If you align with the wrong side, you’ll have nowhere to turn if you lose your job,” Aurora said with a smile.

“Did you orchestrate Yvonne’s incident?” Quise asked in shock, realizing Aurora’s reach extended even higher.

Aurora laughed: “Your expression now is just like when you couldn’t believe I brought in the investors. People shouldn’t always be so naive, right?”

Quise reassessed Aurora, a young woman in her twenties, dressed elegantly in a suit, presenting herself with light makeup. She sat across from him, calm and composed, like a seasoned gambler at the card table, holding the winning hand, waiting for him to lose everything.
