In the blink of an eye, it was the day before Grandpa’s birthday. Madeline was busy preparing for the birthday banquet and hadn’t visited her grandpa for several days.

Aurora returned home early. The patriarch was looking for Leen but couldn’t find him.

“Grandpa, why are you looking for Leen?” Aurora asked.

Grandpa was somewhat annoyed: “I’m not up to anything, I just haven’t seen him all day, and I have no idea where he went.”

Aurora helped the patriarch sit down and said with a smile, “Grandpa, if Leen isn’t here, let me take you out for some fun?”

Grandpa was startled: “You, a young girl, not going out with people your age, but wanting to hang out with an old man like me?”

Aurora playfully shook her grandpa’s arm: “Please, let’s go! I love hanging out with you!”

“Alright, alright, where to?” her grandpa said indulgently.

Aurora jumped up excitedly: “You’ll know once we get there!”

Aurora helped her grandpa out, and Jay drove them straight to the airport. Grandpa was surprised: “Are we traveling far?”

Aurora nodded: “Trust me, I won’t disappoint you.”

Resigned, he followed Aurora and Jay onto the plane, grumbling, “What are you up to now? The banquet is tomorrow night; let’s see how you explain this to your father if we can’t return.”

Aurora said with a smile, “Then we won’t return. After all, you don’t like birthday banquets.”

Grandpa laughed and tapped her nose: “How did you know I don’t like them?”

“Don’t I?‘ Aurora pouted proudly: “I’m your darling little granddaughter!”

The journey was short, less than three hours. After chatting and bickering, they arrived. The patriarch stepped off the plane and was stunned: “Seaview City?”

Aurora nodded: “Yes, haven’t you been missing home?”

The patriarch was touched, realizing that if it weren’t for the family business, he would never have moved to the capital. Seaview was his

true home.

Aurora led her grandpa and said, “Don’t be too moved, there’s more surprise to come!”

The patriarch tapped her forehead: “Don’t think I’ll overlook your injury.”

Aurora’s wound had scabbed over, but it was still noticeable. Her grandpa always nagged her about it, worrying about scars on her

beautiful face.

She told him that she fell and hurt herself, but he wasn’t so easily fooled.

As they left the airport, a car was already waiting outside. Seeing the driver, Grandpa was stunned again: “Leen? When did you come

here?”

Leen, smiling, helped the patriarch into the car: “I came early today, as arranged by Aurora.”

The patriarch turned to Aurora and tapped her forehead, smiling: “You’re quite the schemer, buying off my people!”

Aurora rubbed her forehead, boasting: “Of course, I’m very capable!”

Leen drove Aurora and the patriarch back to the Pendleton family’s old house. As they entered, the lights were brightly lit.

Aurora opened the door and welcomed, “Grandpa, please come in!”

Leen helped the patriarch into the living room, decorated with various small lights, warm and unique. The patriarch’s eyes reddened with emotion. When did Aurora become so thoughtful?

Leen helped the patriarch to his room: “Rest for a while, dinner will be ready soon.”

Grandpa agreed, took a tour, and then rested.

Aurora, Little Fish, and Leen busied themselves in the kitchen. Aurora was just assisting; most of the dishes were prepared by Little Fish and Leen. She made a cold dish, claiming it as her contribution to cooking for her grandpa.

They worked efficiently, and dinner was ready soon. Leen invited the patriarch to the dining room.

The table was filled with homely dishes. Aurora said, rubbing her hands, “Today, we’re celebrating Grandpa’s birthday at home in advance, hoping to make him happy. Our cooking might not match the house chefs, but you won’t mind, right?”

Grandpa was overjoyed: “Let’s all sit, let’s have a good meal together.”

During the meal, Aurora was very talkative, delighting her grandpa.

After dinner, Aurora brought out a cake. As the candlelight flickered, she smiled sweetly and innocently: “Happy birthday, Grandpa!”

They sang the birthday song ceremoniously, and Grandpa was very happy, cooperatively blowing out the candles and making a wish.
