Chapter 230
Ms. Luce was leisurely sipping coffee in the garden, seemingly spending most of her time there, enjoying coffee and flowers like a celestial being detached from worldly concerns.
Upon seeing Aurora arrive, Ms. Luce greeted her cheerfully, “Aurora, it’s been a while.”
Aurora smiled, “Madam, it’s been a long time indeed.”
Noticing the intertwined hands of Aurora and Heath, Ms. Luce’s smile grew wider, “So, have you finally opened up to each other?”
Aurora’s cheeks flushed, “Yes, I’ve learned much from your advice.”
Heath nodded slightly, smiling, “Madam, you’ve been a great help to me.”
Ms. Luce invited them to sit and chuckled, “I haven’t helped. If you mistreat Aurora, I’ll advise her to leave you.”
At that moment, Ms. Luce’s smile was mischievous, like that of a twenty–year–old girl.
Heath, holding Aurora’s hand tighter, assured, “Don’t worry, Madam. I dare not mistreat her.”
The servant brought in floral tea, specially serving Heath traditional tea leaves, remembering he wasn’t fond of coffee.
Ms. Luce playfully inquired, “You didn’t come this early just to have small talk with me, did you?”
Aurora smiled and said, ‘I’d like to invite you to be the screenwriter for Dual Facades and join the adaptation process.”
Ms. Luce set down her tea cup and waved dismissively, “I can’t do that. I’ve never altered my father’s works.”
Aurora persuaded, “Please try, Madam. No one understands your father better than you. You can do it well.”
Still refusing, Ms. Luce playfully pouted, “I don’t want to. I haven’t been to your city for decades.”
Aurora laughed, “Come on, I’ll be your guide!”
Heath chuckled softly, ‘You, a guide? Do you even know the way?”
Aurora rolled her eyes, retorting, “Then you be the guide!”
Watching their banter, Ms. Luce laughed, “Alright, alright, no more public displays of affection here. I’ll go, okay?”
Aurora, elated, almost jumped with joy. Ms. Luce was known to be difficult, often rejecting lucrative offers for publishing rights. Aurora had anticipated a challenging trip to Philadelphia, but it turned out surprisingly smooth.
Ms. Luce, still smiling, said, “Don’t be too happy yet. I have a condition.”
Aurora immediately responded, “Please tell me, Madam. Whatever it is, I agree!”
་
Ms. Luce’s eyes sparkled, “Then, make me your godmother!”
Aurora and Heath were stunned.

Who would become godmothers after just three meetings?
Ms. Luce, smiling warmly, teased, “What? You just said you’d agree to anything. Changing your mind now?”
Aurora felt awkward, not because she wanted to back out, but she was taken aback by Ms. Luce’s unexpected request.
“Not… it’s not that… but…” Aurora struggled to explain.
“Aurora, why worry? As your godmother, you’re practically part of the Luce family. I’d be more than protective of you,” Ms. Luce reassured with a smile.
Aurora looked at Heath, who nodded, signaling her to agree. To him, Ms. Luce’s offer was sudden and surprising. Associating Aurora with Ms. Luce was beneficial in every way.
Aurora felt a strong affinity with Ms. Luce and owed her for opening up to Heath.
Thus, agreeing seemed right.
Aurora nodded, “Okay, I agree.”
Ms. Luce appeared delighted, pouring Aurora a cup of coffee, “Girl, let this coffee symbolize the bond. Drink this, and you accept me as your godmother.”
Aurora, spiritedly accepted, mirroring Ms. Luce’s sly smile, “Godmother, hello.”
Ms. Luce beamed with joy, “Wonderful! Wonderful!”
After finalizing the adaptation details, Aurora arranged Ms. Luce’s flight back home, and they planned to return together.
Two days later, Heath and Aurora returned triumphantly to the city, with Aurora securing the filming rights for Dual Facades and Ms. Luce’s involvement.
On the plane, Heath watched Aurora, busy to the point of falling asleep, and sighed inwardly.
He was not oblivious to the numerous suspicions surrounding Aurora.
She had trapped an armed blonde woman in the bathroom, seized her gun, timed her call to the police perfectly, and then shot an enemy with precision.
Alert, vigilant, decisive, and composed.
Like a well–honed sniper, patient and accurate.
Yes, just like the vanishing sniper from the last incident at Weldon Estate, who executed a headshot, killing Luca. If not for that sniper, Heath would have been the one dead that night.
However, despite Eamon utilizing all of KING organization’s resources and networks, they found nothing about that person, just as they were unable to locate the top assassin, Olivia.
It seemed that any clue related to Aurora’s secrets led to a dead end, an endless loop where answers were perpetually elusive.
But what could he do?

This girl had completely captured his heart, residing at its very core. Heath couldn’t bear to let her go, nor could he disturb her.
He preferred her staying by his side with her secrets for a lifetime, rather than desperately uncovering her weaknesses, causing her to flee in panic.
After a long flight, Aurora slept for hours. Once they landed, she was eager to meet Cheryl, but Heath held her back, earnestly reminding her to be careful with her wound, to avoid affecting the healing process.
Only after Aurora’s repeated assurances did Heath let her go to work.
Aurora gave Cheryl the book Dual Facades To her surprise, Cheryl had already read and loved the book, thrilled at the prospect of bringing it to the big screen.
Cheryl was incredibly honored to learn that Ms. Luce would personally revise the Dual Facades screenplay. It was her first film role, and she felt the immense pressure of the project’s scale – if she performed poorly, all of Aurora’s efforts would be in vain.
“It’s okay, just relax and act in your best form!” Aurora comforted her.
In the following days, Cheryl spent most of her time working with Ms. Luce, repeatedly revising the original work of Dual Facades, hoping to maximally convey its themes and emotions on the big screen.
Aurora visited Zane’s film set, where the crew had already voiced concerns more than once.
Zane was clearly out of sorts. Despite the promising film and role, he couldn’t deliver the performance, at least not with the flair he had shown in portraying Dylan and Gavin.
