Zane immediately retorted, “Of course! If you can, I can!”

He couldn’t believe that Aurora, a woman, could endure such grueling training.

Their meals were self–served, with better performers getting first dibs, leaving little choice for those like Zane who scored lower.

Aurora smiled slyly, “How about this: if I get first place, you treat Zane to dinner?”

The man and his companions laughed. To them, Aurora was just a charming young girl, hardly soldier material. They thought her boast was a bit too bold.

In their eyes, despite her military attire, Aurora was still far from a soldier. They meant no harm; they simply saw her claim as overly ambitious.
