After three consecutive days of relentless work with the crew, it was finally confirmed that Zane had fully immersed himself into the character of Gideon. Only then did Aurora leave, feeling utterly exhausted. She felt like an old mother hen, fussing and bustling around for Zane’s sake.

Zane was diligently filming, occasionally taking breaks to dine with Aurora, but Chery was nowhere to be seen. Zane was growing impatient. Ever since he sensed that faint spark between him and Chery, he had been nothing but dedicated. However, Chery seemed indifferent, avoiding him altogether.

Aurora shook her head helplessly. “Chery’s deep into her role for the movie. She’s closed off from the world.”

‘Closed off for a movie? Zane asked, puzzled.

“She’s playing a character with depression. She’s immersing herself, so don’t expect her to hang out with us for a while, Aurora explained.

Zane was stunned. “She’s so into her role. What if she actually becomes depressed?”

Aurora clicked her tongue. “That’s unlikely. Chery knows how to separate her life from her roles.”

Zane rolled his eyes. That was precisely the issue. In the movie, Chery’s character was passionately in love with Zane’s character, but the moment the director yelled ‘cut,‘ she would immediately switch off her emotions, treating Zane with disdain.

Nibbling on his spoon, Zane asked Aurora, “Do you think this movie could win an award?”

Aurora shook her head. “Hard to say. It depends on your performance. The theme of the movie is favorable, especially among the older generation of artists. It’s likely to win something, but what exactly, I can’t say.”

“And Best Actor? Can I win that?” Zane inquired further.

Aurora nearly choked on her tea, giving Zane a sideways glance. “Ambitious, aren’t we? Aiming for Best Actor?”

Zane nodded earnestly. “Yes, especially since so many people think I’m not as good as Chery. I need to win Best Actor.”

Aurora picked at her food, questioning, “What does being inferior to Chery have to do with winning Best Actor?”

Zane straightened up, “Of course, it matters! If I end up with Chery, won’t people say I’m just riding her coattails?”

Aurora was speechless. “You’re planning to be with whom?”

Zane shrank a little. “The company hasn’t forbidden dating…”

Aurora massaged her temples, frustrated. “Can’t you just stay out of trouble for a couple of days?”

Zane shook his head. “No way. Did you see the guy from Skyline who saved Chery? He calls Chery every other day, called her endearingly.

Aurora was equally exasperated. “They are just friends. What are you thinking?”

“I don’t care! Once I win Best Actor, I’ll confess to Chery!” Zane declared.

Aurora had a headache. At this point, she didn’t know whether to hope for Zane to win Best Actor or not.

Meanwhile, Chery was peacefully immersed in her role, oblivious to Zane’s intentions to announce his feelings to the world.

Aurora could only suppress her irritation and warn, “Keep it down, don’t make a scene. Ruining yourself is one thing, but if you ruin Chery, I’ll never forgive you!”

Zane fell silent.

After ensuring everything was in order with the production crew and checking in on Daxton, who had become a venerable figure in the music industry, Aurora returned to home. She encountered Evelyn, who was just leaving. Their eyes met, and the unmasked resentment in Evelyn’s gaze was unmistakable.

Evelyn had usurped Aurora’s partnership and snatched Chery’s role for Yvonne, believing that Chery would lack substantial opportunities for the rest of the year. However, Aurora returned with a vengeance, armed with the script for Dual Facades. Next to this new project, The Earthquake, the project of Yvonne, seemed like child’s play. Aurora, with a wry smile, replied, “Oh, Evelyn, the irony. You and Sophia both dream of driving me out. Yet, where is Sophia? She can’t even return home, all thanks to my intervention. She’ll spend her days confined to Philadelphia!”

The mention of Sophia, her beloved sister forced to wander alone due to Aurora, tightened Evelyn’s fists with a promise of vengeance.

Evelyn glared at Aurora, “Just wait. Your triumph won’t last long!”

Aurora, undeterred, countered, “Evelyn, drop the hostility. You want the spotlight, right? Tell me the truth about my mother’s death, and I’ll hand over all my resources to you.”

Evelyn, caught off guard, was about to respond when a voice called out from behind, “Evelyn!”

Maxwell stood there, his gaze piercing and cold. Evelyn, feeling a shiver, dared not speak further and followed Maxwell to his car.

Inside, Maxwell’s icy stare bore into Evelyn. “Stay away from her, he commanded.
