In the world of entertainment, the very thought of collaborating with the Fairbank Corp was a distant dream for many, and for these in
the business world, securing a partnership was even more daunting.
Imagine the surprise when a small, underestimated studio not only launched a leading actor and actress within a mere two years but alw a pop sensation sweeping the charts, and a young designer known in every household. And now, this modest studio had somehow snagged a partnership with the Fairbank Corp!
Evelyn was seething with envy. Aurora, of all people, had managed to secure a collaboration with the Fairbank Corp. Did this mean Aurora was inching closer to the prestigious circles of the Fairbanks than she was? This was something Evelyn couldn’t stand for. She was
determined not to let Aurora outshine her.
Elowen was beside herself with frustration. She had humbled herself to propose a partnership to Heath, only to be outright rejected. Yet now, Heath had turned around to collaborate with Aurora. What sort of charm had Aurora used to win Heath’s favor to such an extent?
Elowen couldn’t bear the thought.
Aurora, on the other hand, paid no mind to these detractors. She was fully immersed in developing the Vespera&Aurora brand, with Vespera’s designs already completed and the Fairbank’s production lines humming to life. The stores were being rapidly renovated, aiming for a grand opening after the New Year.
As the year drew to a close, Aurora attended the Fairbank Corp’s annual gala as promised, where it was common knowledge that Aurora was a distinguished partner. Heath had even dismissed a receptionist on the spot for showing disrespect to her.
Speculation about the nature of Heath and Aurora’s relationship was rife, but when probed, Kieran remained tight–lipped, letting the rumors die down as mere gossip.
At the gala, Aurora made a grand entrance with Vespera, with Heath openly inviting her for the opening dance, a gesture of respect towards a new partner that didn’t go unnoticed. Vespera and Alaric seemed to be deep in conversation, so Aurora didn’t intrude.
Elowen was conspicuously absent this year, barred by Heath from appearing in front of the Fairbank Corp and Aurora, a clear sign of her
diminished standing.
As a designer for Evelyn, Elowen was confined to plotting against Vespera’s designs alongside Evelyn in her media empire.
After a dance that epitomized gentlemanly conduct, Heath escorted Aurora to the lounge area, teasingly suggesting a change in her status
for the next gala.
“What status?” Aurora asked, puzzled.
“How about as my girlfriend?” Heath proposed.
Aurora, taken aback, muttered, “Aren’t I already your girlfriend?”

Chapter 268
“Then, would you prefer a different title? Like my wife? Heath teased, raising an eyebrow,
Aurora’s checks flushed with embarrassment, and with a stern glance, she retorted, I’m going home!”
Heath tried to persuade her to stay longer, but Aurora insisted on leaving to care for her unwell grandfather.
Respecting her wishes, Heath advised her to travel safely, instructing Jay to drive carefully before letting her leave.
As Aurora stepped out, her phone rang with a call from an unknown number. Answering, she was greeted by a formal voice from the hospital, informing her of an accident involving Maxwell, who had listed her as his emergency contact.
Shocked and confused, Aurora didn’t have time to question the situation further. She instructed Jay to head to the hospital immediately.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Aurora rushed to the emergency room, where she quickly sought out a nurse to inquire about the situation. “What’s happening? How is he?” she asked anxiously.
The nurse replied, “The patient was involved in a car collision and has lost a significant amount of blood. We’re currently facing a critical shortage in our blood bank and are awaiting supplies from other hospitals.”
Without a second thought, Aurora extended her arm, saying, “Take my blood first!”
The nurse glanced at her, asking, “Do you have a matching blood type?”
Aurora nodded, “We should match; I’m his sister.”
Upon hearing this, the nurse immediately escorted Aurora to the blood testing room to draw a sample, stating, “We’ll test your blood type first. If it matches, we can proceed with the donation.”
After the test, Aurora waited outside the emergency room, pressing a cotton swab to her arm. Five minutes later, the nurse returned, somewhat annoyed, and said, “You’re type B, and the patient is type A; there’s no match.”
Stunned by the lab results, Aurora grabbed the nurse, asking again, “What did you say? Maxwell is type A?”
The nurse, impatient, shrugged her off, “Yes! I’m busy arranging for the blood transfusion; please, no more disturbances!”
Sitting outside the emergency room, Aurora was perplexed. She remembered that Sebastian was type B and Madeline was type O, which meant their children should only be type B or O. How could Maxwell be type A?
The hospital couldn’t have made a mistake with the blood type, leading to the shocking realization that Maxwell might not be Sebastian’s
son.
Jay noticed Aurora’s troubled expression as she clutched the lab report. “What’s wrong, Aurora?” he asked.
Regaining her composure, she said, “Check Evelyn and Sophia’s blood types for me.”

Chapter 268
“What? Jay was momentarily confused.
“Whether it means bribing a doctor or hacking into the computer system, find out their blood types, Aurora instructed.
Jay nodded and set off to carry out her request.
Aurora recalled seeing Madeline sneak into a hotel and her dubious claim of visiting Sophia in Philadelphia, which never happened- possibly to meet a lover?
If Madeline had children with a lover, then Sebastian was unwittingly raising another man’s children for years.
Should this be true, Aurora wouldn’t need to lift a finger; Sebastian would undoubtedly take action himself.
While Aurora pondered these revelations, recalling that Heath had previously tasked Kieran with investigating Madeline without uncovering anything significant, she realized it was time to delve deeper into the matter.
Her phone suddenly rang–a call from Leen, sounding urgent. “Miss Aurora, it’s bad news. Your grandfather has fainted!*
Alarmed, Aurora asked, “Grandpa fainted? Where is he now?”
“He’s been taken to Dr. Lysander’s clinic by ambulance!” Leen informed.
Aurora was about to head to Lysander’s hospital when she remembered Maxwell was still in the emergency room. Torn, she had no choice
but to call Evelyn.
Evelyn answered the phone with disdain, “Aurora, why are you calling?”
Aurora was straightforward, “Maxwell has been in an accident and is currently at hospital receiving emergency care. You need to come.”
“What? My brother’s been in an accident? Aurora, what have you done to my brother now, you malicious woman!” Evelyn accused her over
the phone.
