After his shower, Heath emerged to find Aurora about to leave. In a bold move, he playfully insisted she join him, resulting in Aurora, albeit reluctantly, preparing for a bath.

As she was about to undress, her eyes caught the delicate sparkle of the diamond ring on her hand. Bathed in the warm, yellow light, the pink diamond gleamed softly. Its design was both petite and intricate, highlighting the gem’s size and brilliance while accentuating the

slender beauty of Aurora’s fingers.

Staring into the mirror, reality dawned on her. It was true–she had just accepted Heath’s proposal. Perhaps, in the near future, they would walk down the aisle, and it was time to reveal the secrets she had kept hidden deep within her heart.

With care, Aurora placed the ring on the vanity before stepping into the shower. After her bath, she gingerly put the ring back on. Throughout her lifetimes, she had seen countless priceless jewels, yet this modest ring was her most treasured possession. It symbolized her future, a future uniquely hers, and she handled it as if it were the most fragile thing in the world.

Emerging clean and dry, Heath swiftly enveloped her in the comfort of the bedcovers before she could utter a word.

“I should go home…” Aurora looked at him, a hint of resignation in her eyes.

Heath, with an air of entitlement, retorted, “Go home? Fiancées should act the part, stay here tonight.”

“But I’m your fiancée, not your wife!” Aurora protested, worried Heath might overstep boundaries, especially given his considerable intake

of alcohol that evening.

“What’s the difference? A marriage certificate?” Heath teased, looking at her provocatively.

Aurora was at a loss for words. How could he be so shameless?

Pulling her close, Heath whispered, “Enough, let’s sleep.”

Aurora, puzzled, replied, “Was I making a fuss?”

Holding her tight, Heath closed his eyes, “I have a flight to the US tomorrow. Stay with me tonight.”

He held her without any further intentions, and exhausted from the day’s events, Aurora soon fell into a deep, dreamless sleep in Heath’s

arms.

Waking without a trace of dreams, Heath was already up by dawn. Aurora, still half–asleep, clung to him, mumbling, “Where are you off to

so early?”

He kissed her forehead tenderly, “I have a business trip, heading to the airport.”

Barely able to keep her eyes open, Aurora hummed, “When will you be back?”

Pouting, Aurora grumbled, “Running off right after proposing?”

Seeing her pouty, adorable demeanor, Heath wished he could take her with him. Whispering in her ear, he teased, “Why don’t you come with me?”

Turning away from him, she responded, “I won’t go. Just leave.”

With a soft laugh and another kiss, Heath covered her with the blanket, grabbed his luggage, and left, leaving Aurora to the quiet of the morning.

Aurora fell asleep once more, finding it was already noon when she woke up. Rubbing her eyes and sitting up, she noticed the other half of the bed was empty, reminding her that Heath had already left.

After getting out of bed to freshen up in the bathroom, the stark red marks on her neck stood out against her pale skin, prompting an angry roar, “Heath Fairbank!”

Meanwhile, high above in an airplane, Heath sneezed unexpectedly, leading Kieran to ask, “Boss, do you have a cold?”

Heath shook his head, smiling, “Maybe Rory is missing me.”

Kieran was left speechless.

Having already endured enough sweetness during their courtship, which was almost too much for him, now that they were engaged, it felt like an assault on all the single folks around them.

Heath, trying to contain his beaming smile, inquired, “Did Eamon say he had something important to discuss? Is it about Olivia?”
