Aurora, mindful of her grandfather’s health, had previously restrained her dealings with Sebastian and Madeline, fearing the stress it

Jay, along with other servants, forcibly removed Sebastian and Madeline from the villa. In this household, Aurora’s word was law,

regardless of Sebastian and Madeline’s status. If Aurora commanded it, they would act.

The ambulance arrived swiftly, and medical staff loaded the patriarch inside. Aurora and Leen followed in the ambulance, with Jay driving

behind, rushing to the hospital.

Lysander awaited outside the emergency room. Upon seeing the patriarch, he immediately followed into the resuscitation area, not even

having a chance to greet Aurora.

Barred from entering, Aurora stood outside the emergency room, watching the red light above, her heart pounding with fear. At this

Leen, looking at Aurora, reassured, “Aurora, Your grandpa will be fine. Don’t worry.”

As long as she remained strong and in denial, her grandfather would be okay. He had to emerge safely from that room.

After a moment, Leen hesitated before saying, “Aurora, your grandpa instructed me, should he not pull through one day, to tell you he has

properties abroad. You can move there anytime, and they’re already in your name.”

Aurora, momentarily stunned, asked, “Grandpa wants me to go abroad?”

Leen sighed, explaining, “He was only concerned you might not end up with Heath and wanted to ensure you weren’t mistreated. So, he

secured a fallback for you abroad. Don’t overthink it.”

Aurora nodded, clutching her sweater, then nodded again. At that moment, she was at a loss for words, realizing her grandfather had

silently arranged everything for her future.

Aurora didn’t need to ask to know that her grandfather must have left the shares to Maxwell. In his mind, Maxwell was always his cherished grandson.

Aurora didn’t care about the shares, the properties, or the wealth. What mattered to her most was whether her grandfather could safely emerge from the emergency room tonight.

As the minutes ticked by in her wait, Aurora felt like she was on pins and needles. Inside, she was a whirlwind of anxiety, yet she had to maintain a facade of calm. Any sign of weakness, and the whole family would descend into chaos.

The corridor’s silence made Aurora’s thoughts drift to Maxwell’s origins, Madeline’s scheming, Sebastian’s folly, and her own mother’s

innocent life.

How could she not care? She couldn’t bear the thought of Madeline comfortably enjoying life in the Pendleton family, nor could she tolerate the idea of Sebastian’s family living in harmony.

Torn, Aurora eventually turned to Leen and asked, “Leen, did grandpa leave the shares to Maxwell?”

Leen hesitated, responding, “It was your grandpa’s decision, I…”

“Leen, listen to me. I don’t want the shares, but they can’t go to Maxwell!” Aurora insisted.

Leen was puzzled. Why was Aurora, always so respectful and obedient, now acting like Madeline, vying for the shares?

Aurora’s mind was in turmoil. She glanced at Jay, who approached Leen with documents, explaining, “Maxwell is not the biological son of the Pendletons. By leaving the shares to him, the patriarch would be handing over control to an outsider.”

Leen, flipping through the documents, grew increasingly astonished, asking, “Is this true?”

Aurora nodded. “Do you think I’d fabricate documents to deceive you at a time like this?”

Leen sighed, lamenting, “What a tragedy! But your grandpa’s will has been notarized. Unless he wakes up, nobody can change it now!”

Aurora immediately commanded, “Jay, keep an eye on Madeline and Sebastian. Don’t let them cause trouble at the hospital. Leen, call my

grandpa’s lawyer.”

Jay and Leen sprang into action. Even if they followed Aurora’s orders, whether the will could be altered depended on whether Lysander

could save the old man in the emergency room.

Holding her phone, Aurora couldn’t resist calling Heath. The phone rang for a long time, but regrettably, it went unanswered.
