Chapter 290
Inside the stronghold, Aurora huddled in bed, reassured that Heath was still safe. It was clear that Rudi’s target was Eamon, not Heath, so there was no immediate threat to Heath. Aurora needed to find the right moment to escort Heath out safely.
Aurora strolled to the room where Heath was held captive. The guard, recognizing her, promptly opened the door to let her in. With a frosty demeanor, Aurora entered and shut the door behind her.
Upon seeing her, Heath greeted, “Miss Olivia, is that the correct way to address you?”
Before Aurora could respond, Rudi barged in, saying, “Olivia! What brings you here in the dead of night?”
Aurora coldly replied, “Since when do I need to report my whereabouts?”
Rudi, trying to play it down, said, “No, of course not. It’s just that Mr. Fairbank is no ordinary man. I’m concerned he might hurt you.”
Heath let out a sardonic laugh, prompting Rudi to ask, “What’s so funny?”
Heath smirked, “Nothing. Just pondering what face lies beneath that mask.”
Irritated, Rudi kicked Heath’s leg, threatening, “None of your business. Keep staring, and I might just kill you first!”
Aurora, unimpressed, retorted, “How dull.”
She turned and left the room without a hint of regret, while Rudi mockingly glanced at Heath, saying, “An international top assassin, and
you still want to see her face? Everyone who has, is dead!”
Heath watched Aurora’s retreating figure, murmuring, “Really? A top assassin?”
Rudi snorted dismissively and followed Aurora out, ordering the door to be locked behind them.
Aurora’s apparent interest in Heath seemed to have raised suspicions. When she visited him again, the guard followed her in, his presence a clear sign of surveillance.
Each time Heath saw Aurora, her demeanor was colder than before. Unable to explain or say much, Aurora could do nothing but exchange a few mocking remarks.
“Mr. Fairbank, you’ll starve to death waiting here for Rudi to make his move, Aurora said condescendingly.
Heath chuckled, “Oh? And what brilliant insight does Miss Olivia have?”
Aurora shrugged, “Why not just tell Rudi where Eamon is? He’s after Eamon, not you. Maybe I’ll put in a good word for you, and Rudi might spare your life.”

“A cold–blooded killer like Olivia speaking kindly? Heath eyed her skeptically.

Unfazed, Aurora earnestly looked at him, “You never know! Maybe I have a thing for good–looking men. Having Rudi gift you to me as a
pretty boy wouldn’t be too bad.”
Heath’s expression stiffened: “…Pretty boy?”
Aurora nodded, “Yes, like a male concubine. I take care of you, and you keep me entertained.”
Heath was speechless, wondering if Aurora was teasing him in some twisted way when they were supposed to be in a serious standoff.
With a stern face, Heath replied, “Thanks, but I’d rather die than betray a brother.”
“Mr. Fairbank, everyone for themselves, heaven and earth be damned. If you’re so stubborn, maybe I should just kill Eamon myself. It’d be
simpler for Rudi to hand you over then,” Aurora said with a laugh.
“Miss Olivia, do as you please. If Eamon is that easy to kill, it’s his own fault, Heath said, closing his eyes, clearly done with the
conversation.
Aurora sighed internally. She should have clarified things with Heath sooner. Now, she was stuck in a frustrating stalemate.
Aurora stood up and, under the watchful eye of the guard, left the room.
She had visited Heath repeatedly, even proposing to Rudi that she could kill Eamon to have Heath as her male concubine. Though she
hadn’t said anything too explicit, Rudi, suspicious by nature, started to doubt her intentions and ordered an investigation into the women
around Heath.
One day, Rudi seemed to have received news that Eamon had arrived in a nearby town. He left with his men to check, giving Aurora hope
that the time to rescue Heath was nearing, especially since Heath was seriously injured and likely incapable of escaping on his own.
Taking advantage of the reduced presence at the stronghold, Aurora rushed to Heath’s room.
Heath glanced at her indifferently, then turned away, asking coldly, “What are you doing here?”
Aurora approached him, crouched down, and whispered, “I will get you out of here.”
Heath scoffed, “Tell me, who are you?”
Aurora, head bowed and silent for a while, finally said, “Once we’re out, I’ll tell you everything you want to know. Please, eat something
and wait for me to save you.”
The girl before him, still dressed in her seductive attire, transformed back into the Aurora who seemed to plea for a hug and comfort,
begging, Please.”
Heath felt a pang of pain. Even if Aurora’s identity was in question, even if she might harm or deceive him, he couldn’t resist her when
