The men swarmed around her, Aurora’s figure outlined by her tight clothing, the scars on her face, and the murderous intent in her eyes, radiating a deadly

Heath lunged forward, embracing Aurora, only to be pulled away by others. Ludi, with his gun aimed at Heath, threatened, ‘Olivia, make one move, and I’II

kill him!”

Aurora lay motionless on the floor as her leather jacket was stripped from her. She managed a smile at Heath, tears rolling down her face, “Heath, don’t

look.‘

Heath’s eyes were bloodshot, tears mixing with the dirt on his face, adding to his disheveled appearance. This man, usually so aloof and godlike, now shed

tears, feeling utterly powerless and worthless.

Laughter filled the air as the men rushed towards Aurora. Suddenly, a loud “bang” outside caused the ground to tremble, and Ludi cursed, trying to

understand what had happened. A man rushed in, panicking, “Outside! The police are here! And there’s a bomb!”

Ludi immediately fled with his gun and men, leaving in chaos. Aurora flipped over, pulled a concealed pistol from her boot, and shot the man blocking her

way. Before she could stand, her gun was kicked away. As another man aimed at her head, Heath kicked him down, allowing Aurora to retrieve the pistol and

shoot the man behind Heath.

In a flash, the remaining three men in the room were downed, and Heath took the pistol from Aurora, executing the man he had knocked down with a shot

to the head. Aurora knew Heath had acted decisively because this man had attempted to strip her.

Grabbing her jacket, Aurora pulled Heath towards the exit, only to see men armed with guns approaching, likely sent by Ludi upon discovering the police,

accompanied by Eamon, were there to extract Heath.

Outnumbered and with Heath injured, Aurora realized they couldn’t win. She led him away, circling back to the dense woods behind the last row of houses.

Running into the woods with Heath, they were pursued. Heath pushed Aurora forward, stumbling a step. Aurora steadied him, and they ventured deeper into

the forest.

Finally evading their pursuers, they were lost amid the thick trees, losing all sense of direction.

Heath, silent throughout their escape, collapsed.

Aurora panicked, kneeling to support him, calling out, “Heath! Heath!*

His complexion was deathly pale, lips white, and as Aurora held him, she noticed her hands were warm with blood. Turning him over, she found a gunshot wound on his shoulder, the blood staining much of his back- a shocking sight.

Desperate, Aurora continuously called his name, though Heath showed no sign of life except for faint breathing. Fearing he would bleed out, Aurora kissed his forehead, whispering a promise to save him before leaving briefly.

She gathered wood and leaves, even using gunpowder from a bullet to start a fire after much effort.

Heating a knife over the fire, she stuffed Heath’s shirt in his mouth, then, with a heavy heart, made an incision on his shoulder to extract the bullet. Thankfully, the bullet was lodged near the bone and not deeper, making its removal feasible.

Chapter 293

Pressing the heated knife to the wound, Heath awoke from the pain, his body trembling. Aurora, trying to comfort him like a child, trembled as she spoke,

“It’s okay… It’s okay…”

She feared the extreme pain would be too much for Heath, but in such dire circumstances, they had no choice but to fight for survival.
