Chapter 296
Aurora rushed forward, her hands trembling. She was completely stunned, uncertain whether she should pull out the knife or do something else.
All she could do was futilely cover Heath’s abdomen, the warm blood seeping through her fingers, symbolizing Heath’s rapidly fading life. No matter how desperately Aurora tried, she couldn’t stop the flow.
With a trembling voice, Aurora said, “It’s going to be okay… it’s going to be okay… I’ll get you out of here… nothing bad is going to happen…”
She knew it was futile because she had carried Heath on her ‘back for a day to get here. If she tried to carry him for another day without finding a way out,
Heath would die from blood loss.
She shook her head, trying to think of another solution, but in this godforsaken, desolate place, there was no way to stop the bleeding from Heath’s
abdominal wound.
Heath closed his eyes, seemingly exerting a lot of effort to open them again and look at Aurora. He said, “Just go, Rory.”
Aurora shook her head, tears falling like broken pearls, endlessly streaming down her face. She wiped her face, the blood mixing with her tears and the dirt on her face, making her look a mess. Pouting like a wronged child, she sobbed, “I won’t go, I won’t go, I’m your fiancée, where would I go without you?”
Heath raised his hand, gently wiping her face, and said, “You’re so strong, you can go anywhere, just as long as you live.”
Aurora shook her head desperately, like a bobblehead, insisting, “I don’t want to, I don’t want to, Heath, please, don’t make me go, I won’t go anywhere…”
“Be obedient,” Heath said, gazing into her eyes with tenderness.
This damned man, a decisive king feared by many as the powerful Heath Fairbank, always looked at her with such gentleness, making her obey.
Wiping her tears, Aurora said, “I won’t! I won’t listen! Heath, you wanted to know who I am, right? I’m Olivia! I did everything! Please, hold on, okay? If you hold on, we can get outta here, and I’ll tell you everything!”
Heath smiled weakly, his gaze growing blurry. He closed his eyes and said, “I know.”
Aurora’s tears fell instantly. Heath said he knew, but what did he know? He didn’t understand that she was a freak resurrected from the dead, nor did he know the lengths she went to be with him. How could he just die like this?
Gripping Heath tightly. Aurora said, “Heath! You proposed to me! You can’t back out now! You’re not allowed to sleep!”
Heath’s eyes <
osed, and Aurora panicked. She screamed, “Heath, I love you! I love you! Please, don’t leave me behind! Please, don’t sleep!”
But Heath’s hand slipped from her grasp, his body becoming unbearably heavy. Aurora clutched him, crying in agony, “No! Please, no!”
Suddenly, chaotic footsteps approached. At this point, Aurora couldn’t care less about who was coming; she wished she could just die then and there.
When Jasper and his team rushed into the cave, they were met with a harrowing scene: two figures lay on the ground, their conditions unknown.
Aurora, cradling Heath, both of them covered in blood, ‘made it unclear who was more seriously wounded.
Jasper and Carly ran over, anxiously asking, “Aurora, are you okay?”

Chapter 296
Seeing them, Aurora felt as if she had found her saviors, or like a child finding her parent. She grabbed Carly’s clothes, her words jumbled, “Save him! Please, save Heath!”
Jasper checked Heath’s pulse and heartbeat, nodding at Carly, signaling that he was still alive.
Carly, pulling Aurora to her feet, said, “Listen, Aurora, we need to go now. Eamon’s people will be here soon, and they’ll save Heath.”
