Aurora, shaking her head, held Heath tighter, insisting, “I won’t leave. I want to stay with him.”

Jasper urged her, ‘Aurora, if Eamon sees this scene, he’ll kill you. Listen to me!”

But Aurora shook her head, steadfastly saying, “I’m not leaving. I won’t go anywhere!”

“Aurora!” Carly called out to her.

Aurora looked at them and said, “You two go ahead. I need to wait for Heath to wake up. Otherwise, I can’t go anywhere.”

Jasper and Carly had no choice but to help Aurora move Heath out of the cave and then stood guard silently nearby.

They had already informed Eamon of their exact location, and it wasn’t long before Eamon arrived with his men. Seeing Heath, unconscious and covered in blood, Eamon’s expression turned ice–cold.

However, Aurora wasn’t looking at him. She spotted Lysander emerging from the group and yelled, “Lysander! Save him! Please, hurry!”

Lysander approached with a medical kit, stopped the bleeding, and treated Heath’s wound before returning to Eamon and saying, “His injuries are severe. He needs to be taken to a hospital.”

Hearing this, Eamon’s expression grew even colder as he ordered, “Pack up! Back to base!”

Someone came over, placed Heath on a stretcher, and carried him out of the forest. Aurora followed closely behind, her eyes fixed on him, stumbling through

the uneven ground.

Eamon had many suspicions and grievances towards her, but at that moment, everyone’s attention was focused on Heath.

Jasper and his team vigilantly protected Aurora, fearing Eamon might harm her. The tension escalated.

Lysander glanced back at Aurora and then said to Eamon, “Let’s discuss this back at base.”

Eamon nodded, and they loaded Heath onto a prepared helicopter, taking Aurora along.

However, when

the others tried to follow, they were stopped and left behind. They were directed to a later flight.

Aurora’s thoughts were consumed by Heath. She was on edge every time he so much as frowned.

Every time Lysander–changed Heath’s bandages, Aurora watched anxiously, fearful he might cause Heath more pain.

Upon reaching the base, Lysander immediately took Heath into the medical room, with Aurora–standing motionless outside, waiting for him to be safely brought out.

Eamon was outside too, but when he gave Aurora a cold look, she didn’t notice him at all.

She hadn’t washed her face or taken a bath for days. Her leather jacket was left in the cave, and her remaining vest and pants were covered in mud and blood. Aurora felt filthy but remained unmoving.

Over an hour later, Lysander came out and announced, “He’s lost a lot of blood and has many wounds, but we’ve stabilized him. He might wake up in three

Kieranwas the first to step out, then walked to the rear door, extending his hand to help someone out.

A man in a black coat emerged, his pale face visible to Aurora through the window, causing her heart to ache.

She reached for the door handle, but Carly pulled her back, warning, ‘Aurora, don’t be foolish!”

Heath had arrived with a formidable force; Aurora couldn’t afford to walk back into danger.

Staring at Heath standing in front, he whispered something to Kieran, who approached under the escort of two guards, opening the car door to say, “Miss Aurora, the boss asks for you.”

The standoff was clear; with just three men and three guns against ten aimed at them, no matter their skill, they stood no chance.

Stepping out of the car, Aurora stood in front, with Jasper and his companions quickly joining her, attempting to protect her.

In this tense moment, Aurora, head bowed, traced small circles on the ground with her toe. She dared not look up, afraid of what she might see in Heath’s eyes–hatred, resentment, but no love.

She thought, Heath, who could not tolerate deceit, had probably come to arrest her, perhaps for a thorough interrogation.
