Chapter 34

Aurora saw the money transfer go through and called the sales rep in. “Let’s check out the house first, then we’ll talk payment.”
The sales rep was all too eager, practically skipping to the car to drive Aurora to the villa in the western suburbs.
On the way, Aurora stared out the window, contemplating. Once she bought the villa, she could settle Jasper and his crew there. After the heat died down, they could decide whether to stay in Seaview with her or go their own way.
She’d be meeting them as Aurora, not Olivia, after all. Only when she knew Jasper and the others were safe could she focus on her own stuff.
Stopped at a red light, Aurora surveyed her surroundings. She’d been sticking to the city center since her rebirth and hadn’t ventured to the suburbs. Looked decent enough.
Her eyes caught a hotel. She saw Madeline, wrapped in a coat and wearing sunglasses, looking around nervously as she walked in. What was Madeline doing at a hotel alone?
Before she could ponder further, the light turned green, and they were off. She filed that away for later. After sorting out Jasper’s situation, she’d dig into what Madeline was up to. The woman seemed sketchy.
Arriving at the villa, Aurora followed the sales rep inside. It was a three-story building with six bedrooms. The first floor had a living room, kitchen, and dining area, plus a small yard. The place was well-furnished; a little cleaning and it’d be move-in ready.
Maybe because it was a bit out of the way, the price wasn’t sky-high. Aurora was satisfied and agreed to buy it on the spot.
Back at the sales office, they signed the contract. Aurora paid the full amount, leaving the sales rep grinning from ear to ear. He promised to have the place cleaned up so she could move in the next day.
Stepping out, Aurora texted Jasper, “Found a place. You can come anytime.”
Jasper replied, “Three days. The city Airport.”
Aurora finally felt relieved. Soon, Jasper and the others would be out of the clutches of Isabella.
But looking at her bank balance, only 50 thousand left. She felt poor all of a sudden.
Then she remembered Heath’s potential collaboration with the Whitmore family. Heath had said they weren’t indispensable. So, why not throw a wrench in their plans?
She texted Jasper, “Before leaving, how about we give the Whitmore family a parting gift? Yay or nay?”
Jasper replied, “I’m listening.”
“The Whitmore family is about to collaborate with the Fairbank family. They have an overseas video conference tomorrow night at 8 PM. If we leak this before the meeting, the Whitmore family will lose credibility and the Fairbank family’s partnership,” Aurora shared her idea.
“Got it. Carly will get the collaboration details tonight,’ Jasper replied.

Chapter 34
…
Carly, one of Olivia’s trusted aides and Jasper’s girlfriend, was a blonde, blue-eyed American girl skilled in covert ops.
With Carly on it, Aurora was sure the Whitmore family would soon face another setback.
She took a cab to her Boxing coach’s gym. Coach Lyne was an experienced athlete, proficient in various combat sports.
Changing into her training gear, Aurora stepped onto the mat.
Coach Lyne joked, “Not many young ladies come here to train, and those who do usually don’t last long.”
Aurora smiled, “Let’s get started.”
“Since it’s your first day, should I teach you some basic moves?” Coach Lyne asked.
Aurora shook her head, “I know the moves and forms. I hired you to help me build strength.”
“Incredulous,” Coach Lyne muttered, “You know them?”
Aurora responded with a spinning kick, which Coach Lyne barely dodged. After a few exchanges, she was panting, “See? I know the moves, but I lack power and aggression.”
Coach Lyne was amazed. Aurora was highly skilled in combat techniques, as if rigorously trained, yet her moves were weak, slow, and
lacked force.
He’d never seen anyone like her.
“So, how do you want to train?” Lyne asked.
“Fight me until I can’t fight anymore. That’s today’s training,” Aurora said.
As they sparred, Aurora was mostly on the offensive, while Lyne defended and occasionally counterattacked. Aurora could barely dodge his
moves.
Sweat-drenched, Aurora felt like she was back in those hellish training days. Her frail body strangely yearned for that kind of physical
grind.
She remembered Dominic Ashcroft saying, “If you’re not strong, you’ll die.”
But even after becoming the strongest assassin in the underworld, she still died in Cambodia.
