Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 39

Chapter 39

:

“What am I gonna do? The dinner party starts in just over half an hour, and where the heck is Aurora gonna find a dress?”

She sat on the sofa, fretting. She considered raiding Evelyn’s closet, but wearing someone else’s hand-me-downs? That’s just embarrassing.

Just as she was torn, Grandpa walked in and called out, “Aurora, sweetheart, come here.”

Aurora stood up and walked over, asking, “What’s up, Grandpa?”

“What’s up with you? You look like you lost your best friend. Haven’t visited me in days,” he complained.

“Grandpa, I don’t have a dress. I can’t go to the Song family’s dinner party,” Aurora said.

“Tsk, always unreliable when it matters most,” Grandpa retorted.

“Grandpa, are you here to kick me while I’m down? I’m your granddaughter, you know!” Aurora shot back.

“Miss Aurora, don’t look so glum. Look what I’ve got here.” Mr. Leen came from behind Grandpa, holding a beautifully wrapped gift box.

Aurora walked over, untied the ribbon, and opened the box. Inside was a stunning haute couture dress. Her eyes widened, “Is this for me?”

“Who else would it be for, Miss Aurora? Hurry up and try it on!” Mr. Leen said with a smile.

Aurora immediately ran back to her room, clutching the box, and closed the door to change.

When she descended the stairs, even Grandpa was stunned.

Aurora was wearing a white halter-neck gown that subtly revealed her shoulders. The dress was cinched at the waist, and the hem was adorned with light pink peach blossoms. As she moved, it was as if flowers were blooming with each step. Her long, wavy black hair cascaded down her back, and her eyes sparkled like a fairy emerging from a forest.

Grandpa couldn’t believe this was his granddaughter who had been silent for eighteen years.

Aurora walked down the stairs, hugged Grandpa, and excitedly said, “Thank you, Grandpa! This is a real lifesaver! And it fits perfectly!”

“Happy to hear you like it,” Grandpa chuckled.

Then he asked, “So, how far have things gotten between you and Heath?”

Aurora paused, annoyed just thinking about Heath and his random temper tantrums. “What’s there to get between us? I’m just a high schooler; I can’t reach up to Mr. Bigshot.”

Grandpa didn’t get mad; he just smiled and said, “Alright, go on, the dinner party is about to start.”

“Aren’t you coming, Grandpa?” Aurora asked.

“I’m too old for this, you go have fun, see the world,” Grandpa replied.

Chapter 39

Aurora grabbed her purse and left. Grandpa even sent a driver to take her. She wondered, “What’s Grandpa up to? He’s being unusually

considerate.”

At the Song family’s residence…

Madeline and her daughter Sophia arrived at the banquet hall. Sophia fluttered away like a butterfly to find Ethan. Madeline was surrounded by other ladies, showing off her expensive jewelry and dress.

She reveled in the compliments, thinking how Aurora could only sulk at home. “The title of Mrs. Pendleton is mine! All the Pendleton assets will belong to my children! That little wretch won’t get a dime!”

Soon, she would ruin Aurora for good.

Sophia had already found Ethan. Today, she wore a white mini dress with her hair in princess curls, looking like a well-behaved little princess. Ethan was already smitten.

The two found a secluded room upstairs. Ethan couldn’t help but slide his hand under Sophia’s dress. Sophia half-heartedly protested, “Ethan, don’t…”

“You look so beautiful, Sophia…” Ethan was utterly enchanted.

Sophia asked, “So, I’m the only one in your heart?”

“Of course. Once you’re in college, we’ll get engaged. After you graduate, we’ll get married. I want to give you the best of everything,” Ethan promised.

Sophia was elated and leaned in to kiss Ethan.

Suddenly, she remembered what Aurora had said about going on a date with Ethan. She hesitated and asked, “Do you remember my younger sister, Aurora?”

“You mean that fatso Aurora?” Ethan said disdainfully.

Sophia hesitated, then said, “Don’t talk about her like that, Ethan. She’s different now.”

‘Fine, fine, I won’t say anything. But no matter how different she is, you’re the only one in my eyes,” Ethan assured her.

Sophia giggled and snuggled into Ethan’s arms, “You’re so good to me, Ethan.”

They continued their intimate moment for a while before finally coming downstairs.
