Chapter 50
:
“Grandpa, can I move in with you at the ancestral home?” Aurora asked.
“Why would you want to live with an old man like me?” Grandpa questioned.
(36)
“Grandpa, Madeline and Dad are close, and it’s uncomfortable for everyone with me in the middle. Plus, there’s nothing left of my mom there. You’re the closest person to me, Grandpa. I want to live with you and keep you company,” Aurora explained.
“You’ll have to ask your dad about that,” Grandpa said.
“I’ll go talk to him right now!” Aurora said with a smile.
Aurora and Little Fish quickly ran back to the villa. Mr. Leen watched her retreating figure with concern. “Miss Aurora is going back there,
but they won’t let her come easily. Are you sure about this, boss?”
“I’m not sure! But she’s been silent for eighteen years. If she wants to stand up for herself now, she’s bound to face some difficulties,” Grandpa sighed.
“Miss Aurora has had a hard life and has been bullied over there. Since she wants to come and stay with you, why not agree? Mr. Fairbank
is also taking good care of her; who knows, it might bring you great fortune,” Leen persuaded.
“What did Heath see in her, anyway?” Grandpa wondered.
“Miss Aurora is beautiful and has a good character now. She’s your legitimate granddaughter; naturally, she’s the best,” Leen replied.
“Yes, Sebastian doesn’t know how blessed he is. Such a good wife and daughter, and he doesn’t want them,” Grandpa sighed.
“Let’s not talk about the past and make ourselves sad, and make Miss Aurora sad too,” Leen advised.
“Alright, let’s go check on Aurora. I don’t want her to suffer for no reason,” Grandpa said, standing up. Leen helped him walk out the door.
As soon as Aurora stepped into the villa, Sebastian shouted angrily, “Unfilial daughter! Come here and apologize to your mother!”
Madeline, tears in her eyes, leaned on Sebastian and graciously said, “No need, darling, don’t scare the child.”
Aurora sneered. What a performance. She stood at the door and asked, “This house doesn’t even have a single portrait of my mom. How can I apologize to her?”
“You ungrateful girl! Come here and apologize! Madeline has been working hard to manage this home, and you embarrassed her at the banquet!” Sebastian yelled.
Aurora walked over and asked, “Why should I apologize? For her publicly slandering me about being pregnant before marriage? Or for her drugging me for over a decade? Or perhaps, Dad, you want me to apologize for her driving my mother to her death?”
Her words were powerful, leaving Sebastian speechless. He raised his hand and slapped her hard.
Caught off guard, Aurora was knocked to the ground by the force of a grown man’s slap. Her ears rang, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.

Chapter 50
Madeline and Sophia stood behind Sebastian, smirking at her provocatively.
36
Aurora touched her face, staggered to her feet, and said sarcastically, “If we weren’t related by blood, I’d really doubt if I’m your daughter.”
Sebastian raised his hand again, but this time Aurora caught it. Her eyes were filled with icy hatred.
“That slap just now, consider it repayment for giving me life. From now on, please act your age, Mr. Pendleton. You’re not fit to be my father, much less discipline me,” Aurora said, word by word.
Aurora, have you gone mad? How dare you talk to Dad like that!” Sophia rushed over and shoved Aurora, knocking her down again.
Sebastian was shocked by the hatred in her eyes and let go of Sophia. He walked over and said, “You’re a Pendleton, and I’ll teach you what that means!”
“Stop!” Two voices rang out simultaneously.
Maxwell had just returned home and walked in with Grandpa. What they saw was Aurora on the ground, Sebastian raising his hand to hit her, and Madeline and Sophia just standing there watching.
“Dad!”
“Grandpa!”
“Miss Aurora, come, get up!” Leen rushed over to help Aurora up, his heart aching at the sight of her swollen face.
“Aurora, are you alright?” Maxwell quickly walked over, raising his hand to check her injuries.
Aurora turned her face away, avoiding Maxwell’s hand, her voice cold and distant, “I’m fine, no need for your concern, big brother.”
Maxwell withdrew his hand, his eyes dimming. Sophia immediately shouted, “Big brother, Aurora looks down on us, don’t make a fool of
yourself!”
Aurora glanced at her and sneered, “Exactly, big brother, like I said, you’re just making a fool of yourself being in the middle.”
Maxwell stared at Aurora, speechless.
