Chapter 51
‘Dad, what brings you here?” Sebastian asked.

“You think you’re gonna kill Aurora today? She’s your daughter, how could you lay a hand on her!” Grandpa was so furious he jabbed his cane into the floor, making a loud “thud.”
“Dad, Aurora messed up. As her father, I have to discipline her,” Sebastian argued.
Aurora messed up? Your darling wife slandered her for getting pregnant before marriage, and your precious daughter Sophia even had the audacity to hire someone to assault Aurora. Tell me, what did Aurora do wrong?” Grandpa roared.
“Dad, Sophia has always been well–behaved and sensible. How could she do such a thing? You can’t just believe Aurora’s side of the story. She’s been messing around outside and now she’s come back to tattle on us,” Madeline quickly defended Sophia.
“Tattle? Aurora hasn’t said a word about what happened at the party since she got back! I asked her, and she wouldn’t say a thing. How could she be tattling?” Grandpa was so angry he felt chest pains. He had thought Aurora was just unlikeable, but he never expected her to be bullied like this.
Madeline was at a loss for words. She had assumed that Aurora would be eager to complain to Grandpa, but it turned out Aurora had more self–control than she thought.
“If you can’t stand Aurora, then from now on, she’ll live with me in the old house and won’t bother you anymore,” Grandpa declared
angrily.
“Dad, how could you?” Madeline immediately objected.
“Why not? Can’t I make decisions in my own house anymore?” Grandpa yelled.
“Little Fish, go pack up Aurora’s things. We’re moving out now,” Grandpa ordered.
“Yes, yes!” Little Fish hurried upstairs, packed everything as quickly as she could, and dragged the suitcase downstairs.
Sebastian, you’re my only son. Listen, don’t confuse fool’s gold with the real thing.” Grandpa said gravely.
“Let’s go.” Grandpa turned around, Leen helped Aurora, and Little Fish followed them back to the old house.
As soon as Grandpa and his group left, Madeline started crying pitifully. “Honey, what does Dad mean by that? Am I not good enough for him?”
‘It’s okay, he’s just venting. You’re my pearl,” Sebastian immediately comforted his wife.
“Dad, look at how Aurora has Grandpa wrapped around her finger. He doesn’t even care about you and Mom anymore,” Sophia said.
“Sophia, shut up!” Maxwell coldly interjected.
“Mom, look at big brother! Who’s his real sister anyway?” Sophia stomped her foot in anger.
“Maxwell, how could you side with an outsider against your own sister?” Madeline questioned.

Chapter 51
“Mom, enough is enough. Aurora just wants a place to belong,” Maxwell shook his head in resignation and turned to leave.
“Maxwell, where are you going? You’re rarely home, Madeline immediately tried to keep her precious son from leaving.
“I’m going back to my apartment. How can I sleep well in a house filled with such negativity? Maxwell said, exiting the villa.
Madeline cried even harder. “Honey, what do we do? I’ve never mistreated Aurora, but she’s turned everyone against me.”
“Stop crying. It’s not good to cry in front of the kids. Let’s go back and talk,” Sebastian consoled her.
Madeline nodded reluctantly and followed Sebastian back to their room.
Once inside, Madeline said, “Honey, Dad’s spoiling Aurora so much. What if he gives her the shares? What will happen to Sophia and
Evelyn?”
“He won’t be that impulsive,” Sebastian assured her.
“How can you be so sure? He’s so protective of her. He even preferred your ex–wife over me,” Madeline said.
“What are you talking about? That was years ago. Besides, you know I never loved her,” Sebastian retorted.
“Honey, I trust you, but we need to plan ahead in case Dad really gives the shares to Aurora,” Madeline suggested.
“Alright, tomorrow you and Sophia go apologize to Dad. If that doesn’t work, have Sophia admit her mistake and bring Aurora back,” Sebastian planned.
“Okay, I’ll go tomorrow. Don’t worry, I’ll sweet–talk Dad,” Madeline agreed.
Back at the old house, Aurora’s face was swollen from Sebastian’s heavy hand. Little Fish carefully applied an ice pack to her face and treated her scraped arm.
Aurora was sweating from the pain but bit her lip and said nothing.
“Miss Aurora, if it hurts, just say so!” Little Fish was almost in tears.
“Would saying it make it hurt less?” Aurora asked, her face pale.
After Little Fish applied the medicine, Aurora changed her clothes and went out to jog around the old house, lap after lap.
Little Fish rushed to the living room. “Mr. Pendleton, please come see Miss Aurora. She’s injured but still running!”
Leen helped Grandpa outside, where they saw Aurora, drenched in sweat. “Aurora, stop running and come here,” Grandpa called out.
Aurora stopped and walked over, panting. “Grandpa.”
“My girl, if you’re feeling wronged, just tell me. Don’t torture yourself like this,” Grandpa said, wiping her sweat.
“Grandpa, I’m fine. Don’t worry,” Aurora assured him.

Chapter 51
I know you’ve been wronged. From now on, you’ll live here with me, and everything will be alright,” Grandpa comforted her.
“Okay, I understand. Thank you, Grandpa,” Aurora said goodnight and went back to her room.
She didn’t feel wronged or sad, just helpless.
