Me And My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 52

Every time she thinks she’s strong enough, smart enough, capable enough to handle danger, reality slaps her hard in the face.
Last time, it was Sophia who had people bully her, and she couldn’t fight back.
This time, it was Sebastian who physically attacked her, and she was still powerless.
She hated this version of herself–smart but weak. Reality kept reminding her that she wasn’t Olivia; people could hurt her easily.
If she couldn’t even handle the Pendleton family, how was she supposed to face Isabella Whitmore?
“Ding!” Her phone’s notification broke her train of thought.
She checked her phone. A text from Heath: “What’s for lunch tomorrow?”
Right, she had promised Heath she’d treat him to a meal. But how could she face anyone looking like this, all bruised and battered?
“Tomorrow’s not good. Let’s do it in a couple of days,” Aurora texted back.
Her phone went silent. Heath was probably pissed. The guy was moody as hell; standing him up would definitely tick him off.
She was too drained to care. After a quick wash–up, she went to bed.
The next day.
When Aurora woke up, it was already past ten. She called for Little Fish, “Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“Miss Aurora, you were hurt yesterday. Grandpa said to let you sleep in,” Little Fish replied, pouring her a glass of water.
“Miss Aurora, Mrs. Pendleton is here,” Little Fish added.

“What does she want? To move me back?” Aurora asked as she changed.
“Yes, and she brought Sophia with her. She’s kneeling at the front door, apologizing!” Little Fish informed her.
“Ugh, this mother–daughter duo can’t go a day without their drama,” Aurora scoffed.
“Miss Aurora, you better think of something. What if Grandpa softens up and actually sends you back?” Little Fish was getting anxious.
“Let’s go to the living room and see,” Aurora said, finishing her outfit change and walking out with Little Fish.
As they approached the living room, they heard Madeline sobbing, “Dad, I’ve never mistreated Aurora. Sophia was just being immature. She’s been kneeling all morning. Sebastian was just angry yesterday, that’s why he hit Aurora. I promise it won’t happen again!”
“Hmph, if you’ve never mistreated her, where did those drugs come from?” the old man grumbled.
“Dad, I really don’t know. It must be one of the servants. Aurora is about to take her college entrance exams; it’s inconvenient for her to

stay here. I’ve already hired tutors for her and Sophia, Madeline pleaded.
The old man hesitated.

“Dad, don’t worry. I’ll discipline Sophia. And it looks bad for the Pendleton family if Aurora stays here. What will Evelyn and Maxwell think? Maxwell was already upset yesterday; he didn’t even stay the night, Madeline added.
Hearing his beloved grandson’s name, the old man’s mood shifted. Aurora knew she had to act before Madeline swayed him further.
After whispering a few words to Little Fish, Aurora walked to the front door. Sophia was kneeling under the scorching sun, her face flushed. “So, you’re kneeling to apologize to me?”
Sophia looked up, her eyes meeting Aurora’s mocking gaze. “You wench! Don’t get cocky. You’ll kneel before me someday!”
“Tsk, tsk. You still have the nerve to say that? After I ruined your reputation yesterday? Is your Ethan still talking to you?” Aurora taunted.
Sophia’s eyes reddened with anger. Because of Aurora, Ethan hadn’t spoken to her all day.
“Looks like he’s not. So, does that mean it’s my turn?” Aurora grinned.
Sophia stood up abruptly and slapped Aurora, who staggered and fell.
“Miss Aurora! Are you alright?” Little Fish rushed to help her.
Aurora looked at Sophia and smirked. Sophia was taken aback, and then they heard the old man shout, “Stop!”
Grandpa came out and hit Sophia’s leg with his cane. She knelt down, gasping in pain.
“Miss Aurora, are you okay?” Little Fish whispered.
Aurora shook her head, smiling down at the kneeling Sophia.
“So this is how you guarantee no one will bully Aurora? Right at our doorstep, you dare to attack her? If I let you take her back, will you beat her to death? Grandpa yelled.
“No, Dad, it’s not like that…” Madeline stammered.
“Enough! I saw it all! Aurora will live here with me from now on! Sophia, keep kneeling until you apologize! Grandpa declared.
‘Little Fish, help Aurora back to her room. Leen, close the door! Let Sophia kneel! No one is to plead for her!” Grandpa roared,
Leen immediately closed the door and followed the old man back inside.
