“Failed to collaborate with the Whitmores, huh? Took a big hit?” Aurora asked.
“Concerned about me?‘ Heath raised an eyebrow.
“Nah, just asking.” Aurora rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, there was some loss, but the Whitmores ain’t the only option. It’s fine if we don’t work together,” Heath said.
“Good to know,” Aurora mumbled, looking down.
“You seem pretty interested in them?” Heath probed.
“Nope, just making conversation,” Aurora quickly denied.
“So you are concerned about me then?” The conversation circled back to where it started.
Aurora kept her head down, focusing on her food, refusing to engage.
Heath chuckled softly, then asked, “The college entrance exams are coming up. Have you decided on a major?”
“I wanna be an agent, maybe start an entertainment company,” Aurora finally looked up to talk to him.
“Oh? What made you think of that?” Heath asked.
(42)
“I like working behind the scenes,” Aurora smiled.
“Any company you’d like to intern at?” Heath inquired.
“Any would do,” Aurora grinned.
“Sure,” Heath agreed.
I’d like to go to Harmony Media,” Aurora stated.
“Evelyn’s agency? You’re not afraid she’ll make your life miserable?” Heath questioned.
‘As if avoiding Harmony would make the Pendleton sisters leave me alone,” Aurora retorted.
“Once you get into Imperial University, I’ll get you into Harmony,” Heath promised.
Aurora knew about Imperial University; it was one of the top five universities in the country.
“Why Imperial University specifically?” Aurora asked,
“It has a high overall ranking, giving you more options. Being an agent doesn’t require a high level of education. You like working behind the scenes, so you could consider majoring in directing. It’ll serve you well in the future,” Heath explained.

Chapter 56
:
Aurora listened, not saying anything. She still had a lot to learn. The original Aurora had done her homework; she was just picking up
where she left off.
“So, not interested in going to Capital?” Heath asked.
“No, Grandpa said the Pendleton family will eventually move to the Capital. I’ll end up there sooner or later,” Aurora said.
“After your exams, you can intern in the Capital. I’ll get you into Harmony,” Heath assured her.
“Harmony isn’t your company. You sure I can get in?” Aurora hesitated.
“Don’t trust me?” Heath raised an eyebrow.
“It’s not that. I’m just used to relying on myself,” Aurora smiled.
Heath reached over to brush some stray hairs from her forehead, saying, “Eat up.”
Aurora finally finished her bland porridge, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Ready to go?” Heath asked.
(42)
“Drop me off at the MMA gym. I have training today,” Aurora said.
Heath raised an eyebrow. Was Aurora’s fighting skill really learned in a combat class?
After settling the bill, they left the restaurant. Heath fetched the car and opened the passenger door for Aurora.
Once inside, she buckled up and asked, “Where’s Kieran?”
“Back at the office, Heath replied.
Aurora chuckled, “Kieran really has it tough, being both a driver and an assistant. Good thing he’s a guy; a girl probably couldn’t handle
it.”
‘I don’t hire female assistants,” Heath stated.
“Heath, you’re so standoffish, you’ll end up alone,” Aurora teased.
“No rush, it’ll happen, Heath glanced at her.
Aurora blushed and looked out the window. Heath parked at the MMA gym and they got out.
“You coming in?” Aurora asked.
“Got nothing better to do, might as well,” Heath followed her inside.
Coach Lyne saw Aurora and smiled, “Haven’t seen you in days, thought you quit!”
“No way, just give me a sec to change,” Aurora headed to the locker room.

Chapter 56
Heath found a seat and asked, “She trains here often?”
A 42
Lyne, always chatty, said, “No, just once before. She’s fierce, though.”
Just then, Aurora emerged in her gym clothes, her hair now in a high ponytail. She looked like a different person, all sporty and fierce.
“Same as usual?” Lyne asked.
“Yep, the usual,” Aurora confirmed.
The training session was intense. Aurora dodged, punched, kicked–her moves were fluid, not at all like someone who’d only trained once.
Heath couldn’t help but wonder, who was this girl?
After twenty minutes, both were drenched in sweat. During the break, Aurora sat on the mat, gulping down water.
“Your punches are too slow, and your kicks lack power,” Heath commented.
“You know how to do better?” Aurora smiled.
“Wanna find out?” Heath raised an eyebrow.
“Let’s do it!” Aurora stood up, stretching her limbs.
