When Aurora left the boxing gym, it was raining outside. She hadn’t brought an umbrella and rushed to her car, driving back to the Pendleton house.
After parking, she realized her phone was dead. She had no choice but to walk back to the mansion in the rain.
The cold rain of the season was bone–chilling, but it also cleared her mind.
She had to get her hands on Grandpa’s shares and take over the entire Pendleton family.
And finally, the Whitmore family.
As she reached the mansion’s entrance, she ran into Sophia, who was holding a blue umbrella.
“Look who’s here, all soaked. Doesn’t Grandpa care about you?” Sophia taunted.
Aurora wiped the rain from her face, looked at her coldly, and said, “Move.”
“Sophia, are you here to show off?” Aurora looked up.
“Do I need to show off to you? You’re just a beggar in the Pendleton family. You won’t get anything!” Sophia sneered.
Aurora smiled, a smile tinged with mockery and resignation.
But her eyes were as cold as the rain that filled the sky.
She walked closer, step by step. Sophia, feeling scared, stepped back. Aurora reached out, and Sophia, thinking Aurora was going to hit her, ducked.
Then, Aurora grabbed her by the collar, pulling her with such force that
she could hardly breathe.
Before Sophia could call for help, Aurora shoved her against the wall, snatched her umbrella, and threw it to the ground.
In an instant, Sophia was soaked by the rain.
“You’re insane!” Sophia coughed, drenched and confused.
“I am insane. Didn’t you know I’ve always been crazy? What did you say earlier? Your subsidiary? Your brother’s shares? Let me tell you, all of that is mine. In the end, you and your mom will be the beggars of the Pendleton family!” Aurora’s eyes were bloodshot as she stared
at her.
“You wouldn’t dare! Sophia choked out.
“Watch me. And if I find out that even a tiny bit of my mom’s death had to do with your mom, I’ll make both of you die even more horribly! Aurora yelled.

Chapter 62
…
“Aurora, stop it! The voice of Maxwell came from behind.
:
In the pouring rain, Maxwell had come to check on his grandfather. He hadn’t expected to see this scene.
Sophia was pinned against the wall by Aurora, both drenched in the rain.
“Big brother… save me! Sophia cried out.

Without turning her head, Aurora looked at Sophia’s pitiful state and laughed. She let go, and Sophia fell into the rain. Maxwell immediately went to help her up. Sophia scrambled to her feet and took refuge in Maxwell’s arms, crying, “Big brother! Aurora said she’s going to kill me! And mom too!”
Maxwell frowned. Just by looking at Aurora’s back, he could feel the malice emanating from her.
He didn’t understand. She was a young girl in the prime of her life. Why did she harbor so much resentment?
“Aurora…”
Slowly, Aurora turned around. The rain washed over her young face, her long hair and dress clinging to her body.
She looked pale and was clearly shivering, yet she smiled.
She looked at Sophia, shivering in Maxwell’s arms, and thought that if it weren’t for this family, the Aurora of the past should have been the jewel of this home.
But now, she was just trying to reclaim what rightfully belonged to her, and she had become the villain.
“Maxwell, why are you so concerned? Do you really believe I’d scare Sophia? Or do you think I’d actually kill her?” Aurora tilted her head, her smile innocent and pure.
Maxwell held the umbrella, staring at her silently.
“Sophia, remember what I said. And then, wait for me,” Aurora’s smile made Sophia’s skin crawl.
Then she turned and walked back to the mansion, step by step.
“Miss Aurora, you’re back? Why are you all wet?” Little Fish ran downstairs to get a towel for her hair.
Aurora gave Little Fish a faint smile. Then her figure wobbled and she collapsed onto the floor.
