Chapter 64
The next day.

Aurora woke up in a daze, feeling weak all over. She moved her arm and propped herself up to see Little Fish lying beside her bed.
Little Fish woke up, rubbed her eyes, and smiled when she saw Aurora awake. “Miss Aurora, you’re finally awake!”
“Why didn’t you go back to your room to sleep?” Aurora rubbed her temples with her eyes closed.
“You had a fever, and Dr. Lysander said you shouldn’t catch a cold after sweating at night. So, I stayed here to cover you with a blanket,” Little Fish explained.
“Lysander Fane? Has he been here?” Aurora asked.
“Yeah, he’ll be back for a follow–up check. Are you hungry? Want me to bring some food?” Little Fish inquired.
Only then did Aurora realize she was hungry and nodded.
After helping Aurora freshen up in the bathroom, Little Fish brought up some porridge and a few side dishes. “You just woke up, so let’s keep it light. They’ve been keeping the porridge warm for you in the kitchen.
Aurora sat down on the sofa, took a few bites, and then waved her hand. “I can’t eat anymore.”
Little Fish helped her back to bed. “Rest up, Miss Aurora. Dr. Lysander will be here soon.”
Aurora felt drained and soon dozed off again. She woke up to the sound of someone entering the room and Little Fish’s soft call.
“Miss Aurora, Dr. Lysander is here,” Little Fish helped her sit up.
Aurora managed a weak smile. “Lysander, thanks for coming.”
Lysander chuckled, “You’re unusually vulnerable today. How are you feeling?”
Just a fever, no big deal, Aurora replied.
Lysander took out a thermometer. “You’ve got a severe cold. You’ll need to take your meds to recover quickly.”
Aurora nodded, took her temperature, and handed the thermometer back. I have a favor to ask.
“What is it?” Lysander glanced at the thermometer. “The fever’s gone.”
“Can you test a few more blood samples for viruses?” Aurora asked.
Lysander looked at her. I can.”
“Then please do it as soon as possible, Aurora said.

Lysander hesitated, “If you don’t mind me saying, that girl should be hospitalized as soon as possible.”
Aurora looked out the window. “She’s already in the U.S., getting treatment.”
“Good, just remember to take your meds and stay warm,” Lysander advised before leaving.
Aurora nodded, “Thanks.”
As Lysander reached the door, he turned back. “Does Heath know you’re this sick?”
Aurora paused, “No, I haven’t told him.”
“You should let him know. Otherwise, I’ll have to go find him and apologize,” Lysander chuckled.

Aurora was puzzled. Heath was back in the capital?
She suddenly remembered that Heath had told her he’d be flying back to the capital two days later. But then Amy passed away, and she
fell ill, completely forgetting about it.
Was Heath expecting her to see him off?
She hadn’t promised anything, so it shouldn’t be a big deal, right? It’s only been two days.
But why did she feel so guilty?
Aurora sat on the bed, lost in thought. She felt an inexplicable tension, as if Heath was angry with her, even though they were a thousand
miles apart.
When Little Fish came back, she found Aurora sitting on the bed, looking gloomy. “Miss Aurora, what’s wrong?”
“What does it mean if someone tells you their flight details?” Aurora asked.
“It probably means they want you to pick them up or see them off,” Little Fish replied while tidying up the room.
“Why can’t they just say it?” Aurora was frustrated.
“Heath’s always so aloof, how could he say it directly?” Little Fish chuckled.
Aurora threw a soft pillow at Little Fish. “Whoa, hold up, Fish. Who said anything about Heath?”
Little Fish picked up the pillow and put it back in Aurora’s arms. “Miss Aurora, who else would tell you their flight details?”
Aurora sighed deeply, pulled the blanket over her head, and lay down.
Little Fish pulled the blanket back and placed the phone beside her pillow. ‘Miss Autora, some things are hard for a man like Heath to say directly. If you miss him, just call him. Don’t overthink it.”
Aurora held her phone, indecisive.

Chapter 64
Did she miss Heath?
Impossible! She didn’t miss him at all!
Should she call him?
Maybe just to see if he’s angry?
No! It’s just a call!
:
After much internal debate, Aurora mustered the courage to dial the number.
She held her breath as the phone rang.
Heath was in a meeting. His phone rang, and he signaled for the reporting manager to pause.
Then, everyone in the meeting room stared at Heath’s vibrating phone.
Kieran sat to one side, somewhat helpless. Anyone who could call Heath’s personal phone had to be Aurora.
Heath was just being tsundere. If he kept this up, the call would be disconnected.
Just as Aurora was about to hang up, the call was answered.
It had only been two days, but after her illness, it felt like an eternity.
The familiar male voice finally spoke, “Hello?”
Aurora: “Heath, it’s Aurora.”

“What’s up?” Heath’s tone was icy, making her feel like a stranger.
“Nothing, just that-”
“If it’s nothing, I’m hanging up. I’m busy.” Before Aurora could finish, the call was abruptly ended.
Stunned, she stared at her phone for a moment before tossing it onto the sofa in the corner. She pulled the blanket over her head and kicked her legs in frustration.
Was he really that mad just because she didn’t see him off?
Feeling upset, Aurora lay there, her chest tight with emotion.
Heath put his phone back on the table and continued the meeting. The phone remained silent for the rest of the day.
Heath wore a dark expression all day, leaving Kieran helpless. Heath had hung up on her, yet he expected her to call back.
How long would this stalemate last?

Chapter 64
Meanwhile, Aurora had a busy day. She had just recovered from her illness and drove to the suburban villa. She had arranged for Amy’s burial two days ago, and today she went to the cemetery with Jasper and a few others.
The weather was still a bit gloomy. Aurora tightened her coat and led the group inside.
Looking at the blank tombstone, a wave of pain washed over her.
Amy had been an assassin with no identity, so there was no photo, no name, and no epitaph.
After placing the bouquet of flowers, Aurora closed her eyes. One day, she would make Isabella Whitmore kneel here and apologize.
