Me And My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 65
After leaving the cemetery, the group returned to the villa.
(42)
Aurora carefully collected the blood samples from the three of them. “I’ll have the doctor run some tests. We should have the results by tomorrow. What are you guys planning to do next?”
The group exchanged glances. Jasper spoke up, “Miss Aurora, we took the liberty of looking into your background. You’re the least favored third daughter of the Pendleton family. What were your original plans for us?”
Aurora chuckled, “As you can see, I’m just a high school student. I don’t have money or influence. If you guys want to stay, you’ll have to
live under the radar.”
“Meaning?” Carly raised an eyebrow, her expression full of Western allure.
“After I finish my college entrance exams, I’ll be starting my own company soon. I’ll need a lot of help. You can stay if you want, but the pay will be standard, not like the big bucks you made in the underworld.”
Aurora put it delicately, but everyone knew that in the underworld, they were involved in some dark business.
Assassinations, espionage, infiltration, hijacking.
Each mission came with life–threatening risks but also lucrative rewards.
Jasper paused before saying, “We’ve discussed it. Money isn’t the issue; we all have our savings. But Isabella killed Olivia and harmed so many others. We can’t just let her go!”
Aurora smiled, a smile tinged with a bloodthirsty intent. The familiar expression made Jasper and the others slightly uneasy.
“Of course, I’ll make Isabella Whitmore pay,” she assured.
“Great. Since you’re Olivia’s sister and you feel this way, we’re willing to follow you. Just give us a shout when you need us,” Jasper said.
Aurora nodded, ‘Settle in here for now. Feel free to explore the area, just be careful.”
Knowing that Jasper and the others would stay, Aurora felt relieved, like a wanderer who had finally found home,
Kieran, seeing his boss’s dark mood, urgently messaged Lysander, saying that Miss Aurora had a falling–out with the boss.
Heath was already irritated when Lysander called. “Speak!”
“Heath, the young lady just recovered from a serious illness. Why are you so grumpy instead of comforting her?” Lysander got straight to the point.
“Recovered from what illness?” Heath asked.
Lysander chuckled, “You didn’t know? Ah, poor Aurora got caught in the rain, and who knows how that unreasonable Sophia bullied her.

She fainted as soon as she got home. Scared her grandpa so much he called me to check on her. She just woke up this morning, looking so pale.”
Lysander kept talking, painting Aurora as pitiful as possible.
Heath remained silent, prompting Lysander to fan the flames even more.
‘No wonder she’s ignoring you. An 18- or 19–year–old girl wakes up and calls you, and you hang up on her? I think Maxwell has a point about the age gap being an issue,” Lysander sighed.
“Whether it’s an issue or not, he doesn’t get to decide,” Heath retorted.
Lysander was about to continue when the call abruptly ended.
“Fine, stay single then,” Lysander muttered to himself.
Aurora returned to the old house and had dinner with her grandfather. During the meal, he kept adding food to her plate, saying she had lost weight due to her illness.
“I’m trying to lose weight, Grandpa. Being thin is good,” Aurora protested.
“What are you talking about? You look fine now. Why would you want to look like a stick? Eat up!” her grandfather insisted.
Aurora gave in and ended up eating the biggest meal she’d had since her rebirth.
Feeling a bit stuffed, she took a walk in the backyard. Little Fish approached, “Miss Aurora, have you called Mr. Heath Fairbank yet?”
The mere mention of this made Aurora angry, “No! I won’t! Never again!”
Little Fish backed off, not daring to say more.
Aurora took a deep breath and changed the subject, “How’s your mom’s illness?”
“It’s the same, the doctors say there’s nothing they can do,” Little Fish replied, looking down.
“If you need anything, just let me know,” Aurora patted her shoulder.
Little Fish nodded but said nothing.
Aurora sat in the gazebo, holding a weed she’d just plucked, lost in thought. “Little Fish, have you ever liked someone?”
“I had a crush on the boy next door when I was little, but we lost touch as we grew up,” Little Fish said, grinning.
“Ever thought about who you’d marry?” Aurora asked.
“No, I have to take care of my mom. I don’t have time for that,” Little Fish laughed.

“Would you like to go to school? I can help,” Aurora offered.
“Miss Aurora, education won’t do much for me. I’m fine staying with the Pendletons and serving you,” Little Fish declined.
Aurora smiled, “You know what kind of person I am, and you still want to follow me?”
“Doesn’t matter who you are. Even if you were to kill someone, I’d hand you the knife,” Little Fish said, her smile innocent.
Aurora looked at her and smiled too.
Today, Heath had hung up on her. That single phrase, “I’m busy,” had bothered her for a long time.
But looking at Little Fish, she suddenly felt better.
She had so much to do, and Jasper and the others were loyally following her, waiting for her to take revenge.
As for Heath, he had never made his stance clear. His ambiguous words and inscrutable eyes were things she neither understood nor wanted to.
In her past life, she had loved a man wholeheartedly, risking her life for him, hoping to one day stand beside him openly.
But the day after she died miserably in Cambodia, he got engaged to someone else.
This life, she’d let it go.
Feeling better, Aurora went back to her room to rest early.
At Fairbank Corp.
In front of the large floor–to–ceiling window, a dignified man stood, looking down at the bustling city below.
On this somewhat lonely night, Heath once again found his thoughts drifting to that vibrant girl.
Lysander said she was sick, caught in the rain, and bullied.
So foolish. There were a hundred ways to deal with enemies, yet she chose to confront them head–on.
Both foolish and recklessly brave.
Kieran walked in, noticing his boss’s lonely silhouette. “Sir, there’s a 6 a.m. flight to X City tomorrow for the subsidiary inspection.”
“Reschedule,” Heath said, without turning around.
“What?” Kieran thought he’d misheard.
“Reschedule. Go to Seaview first, then to X City,” Heath’s voice was cold and firm.
