Chapter 99
On the third day, Aurora’s grandpa arrived in the capital city. Aurora was there to pick him up from the airport, and they shared a meal together at home.
52
While they ate, Grandpa tried to subtly inquire about her relationship with Heath. However, Aurora had already made up her mind not to
discuss it.
Since she had moved out, Heath had not reached out to her. No phone calls, no messages, absolutely nothing.
It was as if the two had entered into a cold war, refusing to communicate and each nursing their own grievances.
Kieran had been nervously following Heath for two days. During this time, Heath had been like a cold–hearted king of hell, causing the atmosphere in the entire company to plummet.
Even the directors were trembling as they reported their work, terrified that a single decimal point mistake would earn them a scolding from Heath.
Heath himself had turned into a workaholic, staying at his company for two days straight without returning to his residence.
He couldn’t bring himself to go back. Every time he opened the door, he expected to see her cheerful face, a habit he had grown
accustomed to.
In just a short span of two months, she had filled his daily life–wandering around the apartment, chatting at the dinner table, and planning her little workshop while sitting on the sofa.
Every corner of that apartment held traces of her, and yet she had left without uttering a single word.
To distract himself, Heath threw himself into his work, forcing himself not to think about her.
Meanwhile, Aurora returned to her routine of commuting between school and her villa. When she had some free time, she would go shopping with her friend Vespera Thornfield. A few days later, Shaw’s concert took place.
Shaw chose the peak moment of the concert to introduce Daxton. He briefly mentioned that Daxton had to withdraw from the competition due to family reasons but had been specially invited to perform because Shaw recognized his talent.
Daxton and Shaw performed a medley, and their combined vocal prowess, good looks, and killer dance moves electrified the entire audience.
That very night, the term “DaxtonShaw” climbed to the number one spot on Weibo’s trending list.
Daxton had already accumulated a large following of fangirls during his time on the show “The Chosen One.” His sudden collaboration with Shaw drew even more widespread attention.
Aurora’s online army subtly stirred the pot. The internet suddenly erupted with debates suggesting that if Daxton hadn’t withdrawn from the competition due to family reasons, Silas would never have had the opportunity to sign with Evelyn Media.
Some netizens even posted videos comparing Daxton and Silas’s performances, arguing that Daxton’s singing was clearly superior and that Silas was only more popular because of his handsome appearance.

Chapter 99
…
The debate continued to escalate day by day. Infuriated, Silas stormed into Evelyn’s office, “Evelyn, you have to stand up for me! Who does this Daxton think he is, comparing himself to me?”
Evelyn tried to calm him down, “Didn’t you say you had it under control? How did Daxton suddenly get involved with Shaw? Skyline Media is a big player in the industry; we can’t just openly mess with their artists.”
So what should we do? Just let this nobody overshadow me?” Silas asked angrily.
“Why don’t we do this: since you scared him into quitting the competition, I’ll just sign him. Then you can do whatever you want with him, Evelyn suggested with a cunning smile.
Upon hearing this, Silas was overjoyed, “You’re brilliant, Evelyn!”
Seizing the opportunity, Evelyn hosted a lavish party and invited most of the entertainment industry, including Daxton.
Out of respect for Grandpa, she also extended an invitation to Aurora.
52
Dressed in an elegant gown, Aurora arrived at the party promptly at seven. Daxton came over to greet her and only then realized she was a member of the prestigious Pendleton family.
Feeling somewhat awkward, Daxton rubbed his hands together and asked, “Why did Evelyn invite me to her party?”
Aurora chuckled, “You’ve been giving Silas a hard time lately. Of course, she’s looking for a way to deal with you. Are you scared?”
“Not at all! As long as they don’t harm my mother, I have nothing to fear,” Daxton declared firmly.
Aurora smiled, “Well, you better get used to these kinds of social events. There will be many more in the future.”
Daxton nodded and stood beside Aurora, grinning foolishly. Aurora looked at him incredulously, “Why are you sticking to me? Go mingle with some of the big shots here.”
Daxton scratched his head, “I thought it would be okay to just stick with you.”
Aurora playfully warned him, “If Evelyn finds out you’re with me, she could ruin you by tomorrow!”
Daxton chuckled, “I’m not scared! You’ve helped me so much; I’d go through hell and high water for you.”
Aurora gave him a gentle push, “Stop talking nonsense. Do you think following me is a hardship?”
As they were chatting, Evelyn walked over with Silas, “Aurora, are you close with Daxton?”
Aurora shook her head, “Not really, just making small talk.”
Evelyn smirked, “You’re not planning to promote Daxton, are you? Remember how you tried to hype up Ivy? Where is she now?”
Aurora laughed, “Why do you care who I promote?”
Evelyn scoffed, “I don’t, as long as you don’t get in my way.”

Chapter 99
…
:
Aurora swirled her champagne, “I’ll try, but no promises. Maybe one day I’ll just happen to get in your way.”
Silas was captivated by Aurora. He’d met plenty of minor celebrities and models, but none as stunning as her.
Evelyn turned to Daxton, “Mr. Daxton, would you be interested in a chat?”
Daxton glanced at Aurora, who was looking elsewhere. He nodded and followed Evelyn to a corner.
“I really admire your talent. If you sign with me, I’ll make you a star,” Evelyn promised, smiling.
Daxton slowly shook his head, “Thank you for the offer, but I’ve already signed with someone else.”
Evelyn’s smile froze, “Who would sign you? You quit the competition!”
“Sorry, that’s confidential,” Daxton replied, turning to join the crowd just as Shaw walked in.
Evelyn gritted her teeth. Had Skyline Media already signed Daxton? That must be why Shaw featured Daxton in his own concert?
It had to be an internal arrangement by Skyline.
52
But as the top dog in the entertainment industry, Skyline had made the first move by signing Daxton, so she couldn’t very well go head- to–head with them.
Moreover, the mysterious owner behind Skyline was elusive, known to only a few. Evelyn couldn’t even find a way to contact them.
With her plans to sign Daxton now on hold, Silas had completely put that matter out of his mind. His eyes were fixed intently on Aurora.
This girl had to be his!
