The young girl's sweet, delicate face was filled with a pure, bright smile.
Her sparkling eyes made even Serena’s expression soften.
From the first moment Serena saw her, she could feel a vibrant life force emanating from the girl.
It was a vitality that even a long-term illness couldn't extinguish.
She actually had a soft spot for sweet, bubbly girls like this.
Serena watched as the girl, now obediently held in place by Nathan, beamed at her. She walked over slowly. "She's fine now. You can remove all this equipment. We can start the discharge process soon."
Nathan's eyes widened. "But Dr. Beverly said that even if all her vitals are normal, she needs to be observed for a few days, just in case…"
"Oh, come on! If Serena says it's fine, then it's definitely fine!" Hearing Serena's words, Brianna acted as if she'd been granted a pardon and instantly perked up.
She pushed Nathan's hands away, her face alight with excitement. "See? Serena is the best! She's the most super-duper, amazingly awesome, best-in-the-universe, mega-cool, genius doctor ever!"
Nathan was speechless.
He glanced at Brianna, then at Nicholas.
Only after seeing Nicholas nod did he release his hold on Brianna. "Alright, alright, your Serena is the greatest. But you stay right there for now. I'll get Dr. Beverly to come take a look and remove these tubes."
Freedom was just around the corner, so Brianna was much more cooperative now. After lying back down, she waved at Serena. "Serena, come sit over here!"
Her vibrant energy was infectious.
Serena walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.
Brianna immediately grabbed her hand and leaned in, her sparkling eyes scanning Serena from top to bottom.
He seemed to be responding with unapologetic conviction—*To me, you are indeed the most beautiful girl in the world.*
That intense, unwavering gaze made Serena’s lashes flutter once more.
She pressed her lips together, averted her eyes, and turned back to Brianna. "Congratulations on your discharge. This is a celebratory gift for you."
Serena pulled a small, exquisitely wrapped box from her canvas bag and handed it to Brianna.
Though the box was only palm-sized, Brianna held it with both hands, her eyes shining. "Didn't you already give me a gift, Serena? You gave me a whole bottle of those priceless heart-stabilizing pills!"
Serena replied, "Compared to the gift Mr. Blackwood gave my family last night, those pills are nothing."
"That's different!" Brianna's eyes widened, and she put on a serious face to rebut her. "What my brother sent yesterday was the price he has to pay to become a son-in-law to the Lancaster family!"
A son-in-law… to the Lancaster family?
