Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1064

Cole and Makiko exchanged a knowing glance, their silence speaking volumes.

Brandon tried to lighten the mood, saying, "Josie, the chef's whipped up a fantastic roast. Why don't you and Oliver stick around for dinner?"

Oliver replied with a polite but firm, "Maybe next time. I've got some things to take care of later."

Brandon sighed, "You're always on the go, Oliver. In this family, no one's busier than you. I mean, really, Oliver, you should..."

Before Brandon could finish, Oliver had already led Josefina out the door, leaving Brandon’s words hanging in the air.

Sandi emerged from her room and plopped down on the sofa, curiosity piqued. "Grandpa, why did Oliver take off before you were done talking?"

Brandon exhaled a weary breath. "He's always been like that since he was a kid. I'm used to it."

Sandi chuckled. "Grandpa, you're so patient. If I talked to my dad like that, he'd probably give me an earful."

Brandon wasn't entirely sure what Sandi was getting at. Was she hinting that Oliver was overstepping his bounds, or was she suggesting he should be stricter? Either way, it wasn't a path Brandon wanted to go down. "Listen, Cole, you can't be too tough on daughters. They say daughters should be raised with a gentle hand. I was hard on Oliver growing up, and I regret it now. As long as Oliver talks to me, no matter how it goes, I'm just happy to hear from him."

Cole nodded, trying to mask his unease with a smile. "You've got a point, Dad."

"Good, then keep it in mind." Brandon stretched as he stood up. "I'm feeling a bit tired. Think I'll take a nap."

Bennett helped Brandon to his feet and accompanied him out of the room.

Sandi opened her mouth to speak, but Cole swiftly cut her off with a stern reprimand.

Cole nodded. "Today's events will make Josefina more cautious. We've seen Oliver's estate—it's like Fort Knox. Getting in won't be easy."

Makiko sat down, her face clouded with concern. "He's at the hospital, isn't he? Oliver's home is heavily guarded, but what about the hospital?" she suggested, a plan forming in her mind.

Cole's eyes hardened, his voice cold. "We can't afford to miss any opportunity, even if it means taking risks."

This was their chance to bring Logan in for examination. A test would confirm if he was indeed the abandoned subject from years ago.

Makiko's lips curled into a confident smile. "We need to act quickly before things get out of hand."

"Tomorrow, here's what we'll do..." Cole began, as they leaned in closer, their whispers filled with determination.
