They all wanted to make sure Josefina didn’t go through any trouble just for them.
“Oh, it’s really no big deal. I didn’t buy much,” Josefina said with a casual shrug as she set the gift on the table.
She had come over today because there was something important she needed to talk about.
Kania, sharp as ever, could tell right away that Josefina hadn’t just popped by for a friendly chat.
“Josie, come with me. I’ve got something I need to discuss with you too.”
Josefina stood up and followed Kania upstairs without a second thought.
Once they were settled in the study, Josefina took a seat, and Kania leaned in, her voice gentle. “Josie, you didn’t come over just to catch up, did you? There’s something weighing on your mind, right?”
Josefina nodded. “Kania, how well do you know your eldest son and daughter-in-law?”

As Kania reminisced, a wave of nostalgia washed over her. How had her once sweet younger son turned into someone so cold and profit-driven?
Josefina listened closely, feeling something was definitely amiss. “Kania, was he always like this? Something doesn’t add up.”
Kania’s heart turned cold, her emotions in turmoil. On one hand, she couldn’t believe her son would betray her; on the other, the idea of him being gone was devastating.
“Josie, I can’t thank you enough for the warning,” Kania said, gratitude mingling with her sorrow. “You’re a true friend to our family.”
“Kania, from now on, you need to be extra cautious,” Josefina advised.
If the people behind Dominic’s changes found out they’d been discovered, they might resort to drastic measures, even kidnapping.
Kania looked at Josefina, a plan starting to form in her mind. She realized she might need Josefina’s help to protect her family...
