Josefina: "..."
Was it really that obvious?
"If Oliver's got the wrong idea, I'm here to clear things up," Caiden offered.
"No need," Josefina replied with a smile.
"He cares about you a lot. He might be a bit jealous," Caiden said knowingly.
Josefina explained, "Oliver does get jealous, but it's not the crazy kind. It's because he cares, and I totally get that. Trust me, stuff like this won't mess us up."
Caiden slowed down, matching Josefina's stride, a grin spreading across his face.
"That's great. If he ever doesn't get it, I'm here to help explain. I wouldn't want to be the reason things get awkward between you two."
Josefina glanced at Caiden, thinking his words sounded a bit... sneaky? But she quickly brushed it off. Caiden wasn't that kind of guy, right?
She unconsciously picked up her pace. "Don't worry, I know Oliver better than anyone. He's my guy, after all. I totally get him."
Listening from just outside, Oliver couldn't help but grin at her words. Josefina gave him a bit of sunshine, and he was ready to shine bright.
He walked up to Josefina, beaming. "Hey, babe, you're out! Did you get enough to eat?"
Josefina: "..."
Why did Oliver's smile seem a bit... mischievous? Almost like he was up to something.
"Oliver, are you okay?"
Wrapping an arm around Josefina's waist, Oliver's eyes were full of affection. "I'm fine, just missed you a little."
Caiden: "..."
Was Oliver putting on a show just for him?
Caiden cleared his throat. "Mr. Oliver, I've got your lady here safe and sound. I'll be heading out."
Oliver: "Thanks for bringing my wife out."
Caiden: "..."
