"Shay, why's Josefina gunning for you? Did something happen with Livia?"

Shay's eyes filled with tears, her voice catching, "Finley, I swear, I haven't done anything to hurt Livia. I have no idea why Josefina's so set on revenge. Maybe it's all just a big misunderstanding?"

Finley suddenly realized that maybe Livia had caught on to his feelings for Shay. Could Josefina's grudge be fueled by jealousy?

"I'll get to the bottom of this," Finley promised. "I'll talk to Josefina. If she's in the wrong, I'll make sure she apologizes to you."

Shay felt a wave of relief wash over her. An apology from Josefina would be sweet.

"Finley, just let it go. I don't want you and my brother falling out because of me. I'm fine, really. I'd hate to see you two at odds."

"Shay, seeing you like this, I have to confront her. Nobody gets to hurt you!"

With determination, Finley headed out, intent on setting things right for Shay.

Shay called out after him a couple of times for show, but once he was out of earshot, she settled back and munched on an apple, secretly thrilled to have someone in her corner.
