Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 783

Josefina playfully tugged on Oliver's tie, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

Oliver found himself drawn in, their eyes meeting in a magnetic gaze that made his throat tighten.

"Josie..." he murmured, his voice rough and filled with longing.

Every inch of him felt electrified, all because of Josefina.

Just when he thought she might pull him closer, she surprised him by pushing him away.

He stood there at her door, utterly perplexed.

"Josie?"

As he tried to step forward again, she gently nudged him back.

"Oliver, remember what we agreed on earlier tonight. Keep your distance for today, alright? Goodnight." With that, she closed the door and locked it.

The key had already been whisked inside by Josefina, leaving Oliver stranded at the threshold, unwilling to leave.

...

After a shower, Oliver had just settled down when Brandon's video call popped up.

He hesitated for a moment but then picked up.

"Oliver, can't you let me enjoy my twilight years in peace? You've turned your own dad into a scandal at the police station, and now I'm the butt of all jokes among my old friends."

Oliver kept his cool. "Grandpa, you know why he's there. He almost got Josie killed. Think about it—do you want a granddaughter-in-law or that no-good son of yours?"

Brandon paused, clearly torn.

"Oliver, you know I'd pick the granddaughter-in-law any day."

It wasn't that Brandon didn't care for Rowan, but his son had brought nothing but headaches.

"Oliver, look, he's still your father. Sending him to jail, what would people say? How about I send him abroad instead?" Brandon suggested, trying to find a middle ground.

"And if he comes back?" Oliver challenged.
