Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 786

"Rowan, what are we supposed to do now?" Sydney asked, her voice tinged with frustration.

Wasn't all this chaos because of Rowan's slip-up in the first place?

Rowan's temper flared. "I should be asking you that! You’ve turned everything upside down, and now I’m supposed to know what to do?"

"Just call your dad and explain things. He can't keep us grounded forever, and I really need to get my leg checked at the hospital," Sydney replied.

Rowan tossed his phone her way. "Then you make the call."

Sydney raised an eyebrow. Why was it suddenly her responsibility?

Taking a deep breath to compose herself, she knew she had to keep her cool. "Alright, fine, I'll make the call," she said, sounding both resigned and determined.

She picked up the phone and dialed Brandon. When he answered, she started, "Dad, I can explain everything."

"Explain what? I'm not your dad, so don't try to butter me up," Brandon shot back, his voice cold as ice.

Sydney glanced at Rowan, hoping for some backup, but he just gestured for her to continue talking.

She couldn't believe how exasperating he was, but she pressed on. "Rowan is your son, and he's my husband. I need to explain what's happening. Dad, please don't let Oliver keep us locked up. My leg needs medical attention, or I might end up paralyzed."

"And why should I care?" Brandon replied harshly.

Rowan was left speechless.

Brandon continued, "Don't bother calling me again, I don't want to hear your voice. If your mother and I knew you'd turn out like this, we would've thought twice about bringing you into this world. Your mother would've slapped you silly if she were here!"

With that, Brandon hung up, leaving Rowan fuming as he tossed the phone back at Sydney. "Why'd you give me the phone? Couldn't you have just talked to my dad? Why drag me into it?"

Sydney sighed, "Rowan, he's your father. No matter what, he's not going to disown you. I'm just his daughter-in-law."

Rowan stood up, visibly angry. "So, you're dumping this mess on me? Sydney, you're impossible!"

With that, Rowan stormed off, leaving Sydney alone to grapple with the fallout of their heated exchange.
