"Oliver, you just don't get it. Back when I didn't have a dime to my name, I promised myself that I'd hustle like nobody's business, grabbing every chance to make a buck."
And wouldn't you know it, fate had a surprise up its sleeve—she turned out to be the daughter of the richest man around.
But no matter how much money her folks threw her way, nothing beat the satisfaction of earning her own cash. Seeing her working her fingers to the bone, Oliver reached over with a napkin, gently wiping her mouth.
"Josie, you don't need to push yourself so hard. I'm still bringing in the bacon, and it's all yours," he said with a soft smile.
Josefina put down her fork. "That's not gonna fly. I like earning my own money."
Oliver was at a bit of a loss, seeing that Josefina had stopped eating. As she was about to get up and leave, he pulled her into a warm embrace.
"Josie, you're wiped out. You need a break."
Being in the business world himself, Oliver totally got Josefina's hands-on approach, but he hated seeing her so run-down. He'd rather shoulder the workload himself than watch his Josie burn out.
Josefina snuggled into Oliver's arms, finding a comfy spot to relax.
"Let me just wrap up the last two design drafts, then we can head back together, alright?"
He was completely under her spell; Oliver couldn't say no even if he tried.
"You focus on your work, and I'll hang out here with you. Once you're done, we'll head back together."
Before Orla could say a word, Oliver had already walked away with Josefina in his arms.
The designers standing by Orla were equally awestruck by Oliver's powerful presence. He was like a sleek panther on the prowl—breathtaking from afar but intimidating up close.
One designer remarked, "I always wondered what kind of man could stand toe-to-toe with Ms. Josefina. Seeing him today, it's clear—he's her perfect match."
"I know, right? He's so handsome, and the way he treats Ms. Josefina with such tenderness, yet stays cool to everyone else... Ms. Josefina's really hit the jackpot," another added.
Orla chuckled. "If he wasn't this perfect, how could he possibly be a match for Ms. Josefina? They're a match made in heaven."
"Alright, let's get back to work. Ms. Josefina has put in so much effort on those designs; it's up to us to finish up and meet the deadline," Orla said, heading back into the office to gather Josefina's completed designs.
