Josefina was heading over to see Livia when she stumbled upon a scene that made her heart skip a beat. Panic-stricken, she rushed over and grabbed Livia by the arm.
"Livia, don't do anything crazy!" she urged.
Taking a life wasn't something you could just brush off. If any security cameras caught them, they'd be in a world of trouble.
"He asked me to do it. I'm just giving him what he wanted," Livia replied, her voice as cold as ice.
Wasting no time, Josefina pulled out her phone and texted Oliver, telling him to get there fast and deal with Finley.
"Josefina, don't blame her. It was my idea. I was just trying to help her blow off some steam," Finley said, struggling to speak as blood seeped from his stomach, his hands futile against the flow.
Josefina couldn't stand it, convinced Finley had a twisted desire for punishment.
Not hitting him seemed to upset him more. Seriously messed up.
Fortunately, Oliver was nearby and arrived quickly.
"We need to get him to a hospital. If he dies, Livia won't be able to talk her way out of this," Josefina said, urgency in her voice.
"My injuries are my own doing," Finley insisted.
Josefina quipped, "Well, he seems clear-headed enough. Probably won't die, then."
Oliver stepped in, "Come on, let's not make a scene here."
As Oliver led Finley away, Livia picked up the beer and barbecue from the ground, acting like nothing happened, and walked home with Josefina.
...
Once Finley was admitted to the hospital and his wounds were taken care of, he was told to stay for observation.
Finley lay there, staring blankly.
"Do you have a death wish?" Oliver asked, his voice icy.
"I just wanted to calm her down," Finley mumbled.
Oliver scoffed, "You think getting hurt will earn you Livia's sympathy?"
Finley's face fell as his intentions were exposed.
"I only wanted to calm her down," he repeated, awkwardly.
"Finley, use your head. Do you really think a few stabs will make things right? She's lost a child. Even if you died, it wouldn't ease her pain."
