Shay's fingers lightly pressed against Jane's wrist, searching for the pulse that seemed alarmingly faint.
"Master, you've been poisoned!" Shay's voice trembled with panic.
Jane couldn't believe it. How could she be poisoned? It was Josefina who was supposed to be the target!
Sydney raised an eyebrow, "Shay, what kind of poison are we dealing with here?"
"We'll need to get some tests done to figure that out. Master, we need to get you to the hospital," Shay urged.
Jane tried to stand, but her body felt feeble, her legs refusing to cooperate.
"I can't stand," Jane said, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"Help me up and get me to the hospital, quick!" Jane commanded, her voice firm despite the situation.
Sydney and Shay quickly supported Jane, rushing her to the emergency room.
After a thorough examination, it was confirmed—Jane had indeed been poisoned by some unknown toxin, and they were clueless about the cure.
Jane, furious, hurled a glass across the room, shattering it into pieces. Shay and Sydney remained still, too concerned about Jane's condition to react.
Without Jane's leadership, tackling Josefina and Oliver seemed even more challenging.
"Hand me my phone," Jane demanded.
Sydney quickly passed it to her. Jane dialed swiftly, "Get to Westwood, now."
After hanging up, Jane seethed, "That little witch Josefina must have poisoned me! I tried to get her at the competition, but she beat me to it!"
Shay and Sydney exchanged glances, both finding it hard to believe. Was Josefina really capable of something like this?
"Master, could it really have been Josefina? How could she poison you right in front of you?" Shay questioned, skeptical.
Oliver's voice came through the phone, a bit louder, "Do you have someone to look after you? If not, I can send a couple of people to make sure you're comfortable."
"Oliver, this is my master. Let me take care of him. Master, I'll arrange for someone to look after you," Josefina insisted.
"Josie, your master is like family to me too. I'll handle it, don't worry," Oliver assured.
Alfie chuckled, "No need for a fuss, I can take care of myself. It's nice to see how close you two are. Oliver, you better take good care of my precious disciple, or you'll have me to answer to!"
"Don't worry, Walter, I'll make sure Josie is well taken care of. She won't face any hardship," Oliver promised.
After hanging up, Alfie turned to Cash, "See, your sister is doing great. No need to doubt Oliver. I've known him for a while, always thought he'd be a lone wolf. Never thought he'd end up with Josie."
Cash, a bit disgruntled, asked, "Master, you're just okay with this?"
"You think your little sister can't handle herself? If Oliver ever tries anything, Josie would probably twist his head off," Alfie said with a grin.
