The diners in the restaurant were caught off guard, quickly jumping up and scrambling to the corners, their eyes all fixated on Josefina.
Marina, clutching the knife handle with a thrill, murmured under her breath, “I did it, I finally did it.”
“Sorry to burst your bubble, but no, you didn’t.”
Oliver’s look was as cold as ice as he booted Marina away.
Josefina stood up, having skillfully dodged the sharp blade, completely unharmed.
Seeing Josefina walking around like nothing had happened, Marina pounded the floor in frustration.
“Josefina, you've got more lives than a cat!”
Josefina approached Marina, her voice ringing with clarity and confidence: “Of course I do! But yours seems to be running out.”
Looking at Marina’s resentful face, Josefina said softly, “Marina, you’ve been with Darrick for ages; there’s no way you’d do something so reckless.”
Oliver chimed in, “She must’ve been trying to save Xavier, to go that far.”
Their eyes met, both on the same wavelength.

Shay headed to the secluded outdoor parking lot to get her car, where there were hardly any vehicles around.
Just as she was nearing her car, a blinding light suddenly flared up from the right.
Before she could react, the car, as if it had a mind of its own, lunged at her.
Shay hit the ground, feeling like every bone in her body was being snapped one by one, the pain excruciating.
Josefina stepped out of the car.
She didn’t bother disguising herself since she had already hacked the surveillance cameras and ensured, through her network, that there wouldn’t be a soul within a 500-meter radius.
Shay, spitting blood, looked extremely dire.
With trembling fingers, Shay pointed at Josefina, her voice barely a whisper, “Josefina... you actually hit me.”
Josefina scoffed, “Yeah, I did. What, should I have waited for a special occasion?”
