Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 906

"Xavier, take it easy. Your health comes first. Getting you out on bail was no small feat. Whatever Josefina did, it was just to make things a bit easier for you."

Xavier kept his lips sealed, his emotions a tangled mess. Marina wheeled him out, her mind racing to find a way out of this mess.

---

Josefina made her way to Annika's hospital room. Oliver had thought about tagging along, but Josefina figured it might overwhelm Annika since she barely knew him. Annika was awake but looked worn out, both physically and mentally.

Josefina explained her actions to Annika, who surprisingly didn't lash out.

"Ms. Josefina, you must have had your reasons for what you did. I'm not upset. In fact, I owe you my life."

Annika's words tugged at Josefina's heart, adding a bittersweet note to her mood.

"Annika, I never meant to hurt you. It was all part of a bigger plan. Trust me, those who wronged you won't get away with it."

"Ms. Josefina, I trust you."

After their heartfelt chat, Josefina left the hospital. Once in her car, she let out a heavy sigh.

"Oliver, did I mess up with this move?"

Oliver handed her a latte. "You did what had to be done, looking at the bigger picture."

"Why do I even ask you? You always tell me I did the right thing."

"Josie, you did do the right thing."

Josefina: "..."

"I'm on it. Traitors don't get away so easily with me!"

Sydney paced around, her worry growing.

"Mom, ask the doctor when I can sit up. Lying here feels like being dead."

"Zip it!" Sydney snapped, her nerves on edge.

Shay fell silent, feeling frustrated yet unable to speak.

Just then, Sydney's phone rang. She answered it, accidentally hitting the speakerphone button.

A panicked voice blared through, "Trouble! Big trouble, ma'am! You need to check the news headlines, quick!"
