Brandon moseyed over to Oliver's place after hearing he was by the pond, so that's where he headed.
Brandon and Bennett strolled up to the pond, only to catch Oliver locking lips with Josefina. The two older gentlemen stood there, momentarily stunned, exchanging glances before deciding it was best to leave. They made their way out of the garden, walking slowly and steadily, while Brandon was so excited he could barely walk straight.
Bennett steadied him, “Easy, sir. Don’t get too excited. Your health is what matters.”
“You’re right, Bennett. I’ve got to take care of myself. I want to stick around long enough to hold my great-grandkids, whether they’re boys or girls, just as long as they’re healthy!”
Bennett chuckled at Brandon’s joy. “Sir, congratulations are in order. You're about to be a great-grandfather.”
“Bennett, congrats to you too. You’re going to be a granddad.”
They shared a warm smile, both filled with emotion. Just then, the butler approached.
Noticing they hadn’t gone to the garden, he respectfully asked, “Sir, have you seen the young master?”
“Tell everyone to steer clear of the garden,” Brandon instructed.
The butler was curious, but he didn’t question it. What was happening in the garden? Why the lockdown? Even without knowing the reason, he relayed the message: no one was to go near the garden, or else!
With instructions given, Brandon settled into the living room for some tea. “Bennett, the tea's a bit sweet today, but quite nice.”
Bennett laughed, “Sir, it’s your good mood making the tea taste sweet.”
“If only I could have tea this sweet every day, that’d be something.” With that thought, Brandon let out a hearty laugh. The good news had him beaming.
