Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 927

Dominic arrived at the hospital and immediately felt something was off. The usual security detail at Shay's door had been swapped out for a new, more intimidating crew. It wasn't just their presence that unnerved him; they were stopping every doctor and nurse, asking questions before letting them through. Disguised, Dominic realized Shay's situation was more complicated than he'd thought.

He understood the seriousness of Shay's predicament and decided to head over to Sydney's place. But there, too, he was met with a wall of stern-faced bodyguards who wouldn't let him in.

Frustrated, Dominic glared at them and whipped out his phone to call Rowan. "Dad, why can't I see Mom?" he asked, clearly annoyed.

"No one's allowed to see her, Dominic. If you want to run the business, stay out of what's between your mom and me. Knowing the truth might make you ashamed of her."

Dominic was baffled. "Dad, are you sure? Mom's been nothing but supportive to you and the family. What could she have possibly done to make you this angry?"

Playing innocent, Dominic tried to plead Sydney's case. "I won't get into details, to save you from potentially losing her forever. Just head home for now, and don't try to visit."

"Dad, please. Just let me see Mom for a moment. Shay's in the hospital, and she's confined. I'm all alone here."

Rowan could hear the pain in Dominic's voice, which softened him momentarily. But the thought of Sydney's actions reignited his anger. "We'll talk later," he said before ending the call.

Feeling more dejected, Dominic knew he needed to regroup and plan his next steps. Once home, he locked himself in his room and called for backup. "My mom's confined, and Shay's in the hospital. I need help."

On the other end was an older voice, clearly not pleased. "We were so close to succeeding, and now you've stumbled."

Dominic felt the weight of disappointment, bracing for a scolding that never came. Instead, the elder advised calmly, "Find a way to get Sydney out. For now, focus on staying alive. I worry you might get yourself in too deep."
