Josefina hung up the phone, got out of bed, and quickly freshened up before dressing for the day. After a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast, she hopped into her car and drove to the office. She first reviewed the company's financial status, then checked out the new designs slated for release this month. With work wrapped up, she headed to campus for her classes.
Walking into the dorm, Josefina noticed Joelle's bed now sported a pink comforter, and a girl was busy organizing clothes on it. "Who are you?" Josefina asked. The girl turned around with a bright smile. "Josie, surprise!" Josefina was taken aback. Mandy had actually moved into her dorm.
"I talked to the counselor, and they said I could move in here. Josie, think about it, we'll go to classes together every day. How great is that?" Mandy looped her arm through Josefina's, plopping down next to her and handing her a bottle of water. "Living with you is going to be awesome!"
At the start of the semester, Mandy hadn’t been too fond of Josefina, but now, three months in, she couldn’t imagine not being around her. As the weather turned chilly, Josefina, in her crisp white tracksuit, was as stunning as ever.
Mandy brought out a bag of homemade cookies and placed it in front of Josefina. "Josie, have some cookies. I'll finish unpacking, and then we can grab dinner. Let's invite the other roommates too—my treat." Mandy was as cheerful as a bird in the forest, and her joy was contagious.
