Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 935

Sydney's heart ached as she looked at Shay, who seemed to have lost so much of herself, both from her injuries and the weight she’d shed.

"Shay, you've really been through the wringer," Sydney said gently.

Shay's eyes flashed with bitterness. "It's all because of that witch, Josefina. She hired a nurse who made my life a living hell every day. If it weren't for her, I'd be up and walking by now."

Sydney nodded, having had her own share of troubles with Josefina and knowing full well how tough she could be.

Dominic lounged silently in his chair, absorbed in his own thoughts.

"Mom, you’ve got to talk to Dad," Shay urged. "We can't let Josefina worm her way into the Baldwin family. Dad cares about me; he’ll make sure to set things right!"

Dominic glanced at Shay with a smirk. "Rowan wants to divorce Mom."

"What!" Shay gasped, eyes wide with shock.

Sydney shot Dominic a sharp look. "Why are you telling Shay this?"

Overwhelmed, Shay blurted, "Mom, why does he want a divorce? Did he find out something? You’ve always been so careful; there's no way he could know!"

"Shay, this isn’t your burden to bear. Focus on getting better. We’ll tackle everything else when the time comes."

Shay wanted to dig deeper, but Sydney rose and left the room, leaving Shay to her own thoughts.

Noticing the strain on both Sydney and Dominic, Shay wisely held her tongue.

She fiddled with the remote to adjust her bed, propping herself up comfortably.

"Mom, what’s next? You can’t just let Josefina keep walking all over you!"

Dominic chimed in, "You can stay quiet if you want."

Shay glared at him. "Just zip it!"

"Enough, all of you!" Sydney’s exasperation was clear. "If we don’t stick together, how are we supposed to handle anything?"
