Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 958

Shay kept her head down, too nervous to say another word. Sydney sighed and said, “Let’s head back. I need to talk to Rowan. He can’t divorce me without my say-so!” Dominic jumped in, “I’m coming with you. I’m not ready to let go of the company either.” Sydney gave him a worried glance, “Dominic, your leg is injured. You really need to take it easy.” Dominic just nodded, his eyes reflecting a hint of strategy. Shay sat quietly nearby, afraid that anything she might say would just make things worse. Sydney stood up, planning to take a short rest. Just then, her phone rang. As she listened to the caller, the worry in her eyes slowly faded away. “Great, that’s fantastic. I’ll be back in Westwood this afternoon. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds! Don’t let me down!” Sydney ended the call and turned to Dominic and Shay with excitement. “Let’s head back. It’d be such a shame to miss out on this show!” Shay and Dominic exchanged puzzled looks, but Sydney’s enthusiasm was infectious, and they couldn’t help but be curious. Getting back to Westwood was now top priority.

...

The big day had arrived for the clothing company’s fashion show. The venue was set, sparkling clean with chairs and floors shining. Josefina had cleared her schedule to help coordinate the event. Alex showed Josefina the design sketches and rolled out the outfits for her to inspect. “Everything looks great. The clothes are beautifully designed, and the venue is perfectly arranged. Guests will start arriving in an hour. I’ll check on the models backstage while you do a final sweep of the venue.” “Got it.” Alex and Josefina split up to tackle their tasks. Josefina headed to the makeup room to check on the models. In a fashion show, models are the heart of the display, bringing the designs to life. There were twenty models today, and the backstage area was bustling. Josefina found Bobby, Lily, and other staff confirming the lineup and briefing the models on their cues. “Bobby, what are you doing here? I told you to take a few more days off. No rush to come back.” “Ms. Josefina, staying away from work is torture. I need to be here.” Lily chuckled, “Bobby, you’re such a workaholic. We should all take a page from your book.” “Don’t tease me, Lily. I don’t have many friends in Westwood. I’d rather be working with everyone than sitting at home.” Josefina asked, “Is the headcount complete?” “Yes, Ms. Josefina. Everything checks out, the process is set, and they’ll follow the plan to a tee. No worries.” “Thank you, everyone. Once this is over, dinner’s on me.” The team thanked Josefina and got back to their tasks. Half an hour later, the models began to take the runway. Josefina watched from backstage as the show unfolded seamlessly. Suddenly, Alex rushed over to Josefina, looking flustered. “Ms. Josefina, we’ve got a problem. Six models waiting to go on are complaining of stomach pains and have been taken to the hospital.” “What!” Josefina was stunned. How could this happen out of the blue? “Ms. Josefina, I kept six spare models on standby, but they’re not going to make it in time. What should we do?”
