The Yardley estate was massive. With over twenty staff members and bodyguards alone, everyone was currently frantic in the courtyard.
They had searched the entire residential area, yet they couldn't find a single trace of Lord Theodore.
When in an episode, Lord Theodore was just like a four- or five-year-old child. If he went missing, they would all pay a heavy price.
Just as everyone was gripped by panic, a figure walked through the front gates.
The butler wept tears of joy. "Lord Theodore is back!"
Chase quickly went to meet him. He knew his uncle had suffered an episode and currently had the intelligence of a four-year-old.
He reached out to take Theodore's hand, using a coaxing tone of voice. "Teddy, we bought so many new toys for the house. Let me play with you, okay..."
Theodore stared at him coldly. "Let go."
Chase was in disbelief. "U-Uncle, you're better?"
His uncle's episodes usually lasted at least twenty hours. Today, it hadn't even been an hour, and without taking any countermeasures, he had actually returned to normal?
"It's a good thing he's recovered." Mrs. Yardley finally released the tight tension in her chest. "Theodore, quickly call the old patriarch to report that you're safe. They won't be able to relax until they hear your voice themselves."
Theodore gave a curt nod and strode upstairs.
Entering his room, he didn't call Boston. Instead, he pulled his notebook from a drawer.
He reached into the inner pocket of his suit jacket and pulled out a black, gold-trimmed fountain pen.
This pen was a bit old, with some paint chipped off around the grip, but it didn't affect its smooth flow. Every stroke on the paper was strong and vigorous.
Theodore's expression grew increasingly somber.
When he was a child, he experienced an episode about once a year. Later, it slowly increased to once every six months. By his teens, it was happening every few months.
But now, only two or three days had passed, and he had actually suffered another episode.
The higher the frequency of the episodes, the longer this secondary persona stayed active. In other words, he was steadily losing control over his own body.
