“Why are you still sitting?” The teacher frowned at me. I blinked wondering what she was talking about now when she shot me a stern look.
“Go find him and get started already!”
I scurried out of class, only to meet with an empty hallway. Everyone must have gone to their various classes, which helped me figure out where Kael would be.
The only reason he’d skip classes without permission was if he was practicing. I knew going in there was like walking into a lion’s den, offering myself as a meal, but it was either this or I failed the class, and I wasn’t willing to test my luck.
Waiting until we at least got home sounded like the reasonable part, but I guess I was really desperate.
I headed to the male’s locker room and waited outside, hoping at least someone would come out who could help me gain his attention, but who was I kidding?
I could hear their voices from inside, laughing at something, followed by the sound of water running, and I was starting to think this was a stupid idea.
It was too late to return now though, because the teacher wouldn’t allow me into her class without the assignment. I inhaled sharply before going in, and thankfully, it wasn’t crowded.
I looked around for any familiar faces when Tristan came out. I lunged forward to speak to him when I noticed his bare chest.
A drop of water dropped from his hair to his body, and I looked away awkwardly.
“Why didn’t I just wait outside?” I cussed under my breath.
He had a towel hung around his neck as he leaned closer to me. This is the men’s locker room. What are you doing here?”
I looked around, and their teammates were starting to come out one after the other. They sent me a weird look, and I knew they were probably reading this wrongly, but before I could back away, Kael stepped out.
His eyes locked with mine, and his muscles tensed. He looked between Travis and me, and only then did I realize how close
he was.
I took a step back, leaving a space between us when Kael joined us.
“What the fuck are you doing here?”
His cold voice sent chills down my spine and I swallowed the lumps that formed in my throat. His eyes twitched and Travis
took a step
back.
“Go easy on her, bro,” he patted Kael’s shoulder before going to is locker and I wondered what he did that for.
“Speak!” He snapped, making me jump from his cold voice. “Olid you come here to peep at our dicks so that you can have something to imagine while you touch yourself?”
I could never understand why he thinks the worst of me. My that tightened, but I reminded myself of the reason why I
was here.
The assignment.

He pulled his shirt over his head before storming out of the room and I followed behind him immediately. I could barely keep up with him. His legs were long and he didn’t bother to wall for me either.
I ran to stand in front of him, and he didn’t slow down a bit.
“I couldn’t submit my history assignment and you didn’t show up in class either. Mrs. Grace was livid but when she learned we were two, she gave us the grace to submit the assignment tomorrow, but considering how much research needs to be done, we have to start now.” I said in a single breath.
He continued walking as if he didn’t just hear me speak. I knew he didn’t care about his performance because his future was secured. He’d become the Alpha and run the pack, but as for me I needed my grades to be up so that I could get into a good university, and if I’m lucky, maybe I’d get a scholarship too.
“I know you have plans, but can you please come home early?” I asked, trailing behind him when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
I almost stumbled against him when he turned to face me, his eyes flashing with daggers.
He grabbed my arms, slamming my back hard against the wall. Pain shot through my veins as I winced from the pain.
“How about I get you a microphone to announce to the world that we are living together?” His eyes bore into mine, annoyance glinting in them.
He turned to see if anyone was in the hallway, but it was just us.
“Let anyone find out about how you’ve been staying with me, and you can kiss your freedom goodbye.”
His hot breath fanned my neck, and I inhaled a sharp breath. He pulled away from me and I didn’t know if I should complete what I wanted to say or keep my mouth shut.
“The assignment…” my voice came out barely as a whisper. He turned to face me, and a smug smile tugged his lips.
“Why don’t you spend some time doing the assignment rather than chasing after boys all around?”
“I… I can’t finish it alone,” I stammered.
“Oh? Would you rather have me inform your mother about the erfect daughter she raised?” I didn’t miss the mockery in his tone as he continued. “You didn’t mind sleeping with three men alone or taking the trophy of the school whore. Why should I help you now?”
My knuckles ached from how hard I was gripping onto them bu I knew he wasn’t bluffing.
“Or I could tell the teacher I couldn’t do my assignment because got stabbed. I’m sure they’d be curious to know how that happened,” he took a step closer, intimidating me with his towering presence.
“If you know what is best for you,” he tucked a strand of my hair behind my car, and I shuddered. “You’ll do the assignment alone, and stop bothering me.”
He strode off without waiting for my response, but I guess we both knew what I’d do
As much as I hated staying under the same roof with Kael, it has made my life much easier. I no longer have to do part-time jobs just to afford my rent, or take double shifts so I could eat tw square meals in a day.
I could take his bullying, but if my mother learns about what happened at the party or how Kael got hurt because of me, she’d send me out before I ruin her relationship with the Alpha and that was something I couldn’t afford.
I rushed home as soon as school ended and started working on the assignment. I still have the research I did for the

I ended up staying up all night to get it done. I tried getting a few minutes of sleep when my alarm buzzed. I had to prepare for school again.
It was barely nine in the morning and I was already exhausted. I could barely pay attention to what our gym instructor was saying, as I fought to keep my eyes open. I went to my usual spot at the bleachers, and I didn’t miss the evil smirk that curved Sabrina’s lips as soon as I sat down.
I felt something warm on my butt and rose to my feet to see what it was, when the sound of my shorts ripping apart tore through the air.
