My Alpha Stepbrother is My Bully (Nevaeh) novel Chapter 51

  1. Last minute

NEVAEH

The moment Damon and I stepped into the pack house, I felt awfully relieved to be back. It’s the first time I’d been out since Damon came to drag me, and looking at the staircase just reminded me of the most humiliating moment of my life, and still, I felt relieved

“You’ll be at your best behavior tonight,” Damon warned, wrapping his hands around my waist as he pulled me closer.

My skin crawled beneath his touch. Standing this close to him was already so uncomfortable, but when his fingers brushed against my waist, it felt like a swarm of ants were scrapping against my skin.

We made our way to the garden where the ceremony was almost done, when my gaze fell on Kael. He looked breathtaking in his tailored suit, and even though he looked bored about the whole ritual, I hate to admit how good he looked with Sabrina.

She clung her hand around his arms, smiling widely as the elders went on with the ritual, and she was undeniably the happiest person in the room.

My gaze shifted back to Kael, and I wished I didn’t. My heart skipped a beat at the unmistakenly look of relief that washed on his face when he saw me.

He wasn’t waiting for me, is he?

The mere thought of it was enough to make butterflies swam in the pit of my stomach. I was getting my hopes high again, or maybe it was the look in his eyes that led me on, but when his eyes bore into mine as if no one else mattered, my heart melted at the sight.

Damon sighted the table. Alpha Zane and my mother were sitting and dragged me to their table.

He greeted Alpha Zane and my mother, who was too busy cheering for Kael and Sabrina to even acknowledge my presence. I gritted my teeth, wishing one could choose their own parents because if I had the chance, I’d have done that a very long time ago before she could even think of ruining my life completely.

Watching Kael complete the mating ceremony when I’m not the one next to him stung so badly, and when Alpha Zane announced that it was time to consummate their bonds, it felt like a dagger was being dragged in my chest.

My chest tightened as Kael led Sabrina away, and everyone knew exactly what’d happen behind the closed door. He wouldn’t just mate with her. He’d fully mark her when I was still carrying his mark around.

My stomach churned at the thought, and I didn’t realize how hard I was gripping onto my dress until Damon brought his lips to my ear.

“Did you see that? You’re just another stupid omega who had foolishly thought throwing themselves at Kael would make them any special.”

His hot breath fanned my neck, and bile rushed to my throat. I sat still, hearing all the bullshit he was spilling, but I knew one thing for sure. Even if it was just a momentary thing, Kael felt the connection between us when it happened, and it couldn’t possibly be because he was in a heat.

“Are you even listening to yourself?” A sarcastic voice snorted in my head. “If that was true, why didn’t he feel guilty for choosing another woman over you? Why didn’t he try to save you? It’s about time you give up your hope. He was needy and you were available. That is what happened.”

My eyes burned from the tears that threatened it fall, but not tonight. I inhaled sharply, stopping them before they’d fall.

“Have you seen that boy?” Damon chuckled, the sound of his voice vibrating through my ear, and all I wanted was to push him off me. “He’s even worse than I am. At least, I don’t go around pretending to be what I’m not to please others.”

I wanted to snap at him and tell him he was nothing like Kael because the Kael I knew wouldn’t force a woman

to marry him or treat her like some fucking trophy in front of his friends no matter how much he despised them.

He may have been a bully, but he still have a heart, and that was something Damon lacked, but I kept my mouth shut anyway.

“We were once best friends and no one knows him like I do,” he leaned back a little, making sure I could see the smug smile playing on his lips as he continued. “And that is why I can’t wait to whip his ass during the rematch.”

He sounded so confident that he was going to win, and I couldn’t help but recall what Kael told me. He wasn’t going to resort to some cheap tricks again, will he?

“All he does his use gullible girls like you to shine,” he continued. At this point, I think he just liked hearing the sound of his own voice because why was he still talking anyway?

His hands fell to my thighs and I flinched from the contact. He didn’t pull away though, instead, he began to draw invisible cricle on it.

“Submit to me completely, and Kael wouldn’t dare to lay a finger on you,” he whispered.

I shot my mother a look. She was now laughing at something Alpha Zane said and pretended as if I didn’t even exist. Ahe wouldn’t even glance at my direction, while I’m stuck with this egoistic man all because of her.

My hate for her just kept increasing with each passing second, and I couldn’t help the surge of rage that coursed through my veins.

Kael and Sabrina had disappeared and the guest were starting to leave one after the other. I remained stilled on the same spot until Damon spoke again.

“We’ll be spending the night here, and don’t even think of sneaking into your old room. You’re mine now, and we’ll be staying together.”

The thought of being with Damon made my skin clawed, but there was no point in fighting a losing battle. I nodded and a proud grin spread across his face from my obedience.

After what felt like forever, we finally retreated into the room Alpha Zane had a maid prepared for us. Sleeping in the same room with Damon felt disgusting.

What if he tried to touch me?

He went into shower, looking unbothered when I heard a loud noise coming from the hallway. I stepped outside to see what it was, when I saw Alpha Zane laughing cheerfully with the elders.

Sabrina stood in the middle of them all with a grin plastered on her face, and I didn’t take long to add the math.

Kael had marked her.

My stomach dropped as I noticed the bandage wrapped around Sabrina’s neck. A scoff escaped my lips as I stared at the scene in disbelief.

He really did marked her.

“He sure is our future Alpha,” one of the elders beamed with pride as they laughed at how quick it was for Kael

to mark her.

Watching them celebrate felt like rubbing salt on my wounds. It burns. Unable to stand the view, I turned on my heels to return into the room, when a strong hand grabbed me from behind.

I opened my mouth to scream, but it died in my throat as soon as I saw who it was.

Kael.
