AUTHOR’S POV

Sabrina had been curious to know the reason behind Kael’s sudden switch in attitude towards Neveah, and the way he fought Travis without asking any questions proved her right. Something was wrong, and she needed to figure it out.

She knew Kael wasn’t the type to care about others, especially not some dumb omega, just because she had suddenly become his stepsister, so she decided to investigate.

She paced around her room, thinking about what Kael was up to and why he’d embarrass her publicly because of someone they enjoyed bullying together, when she finally decided to get her

answers directly from him. She got dressed and went to the pack house that night, when she saw Kael’s car coming out of the mansion.

She had his car followed, wondering where he could be going late at night, when she saw him walking into an empty park.

“Ka-” she trailed off before she could gain his attention when she saw the tent he had decorated, and her suspicions grew bigger.

“Why would Kael come to an empty park this late to make a tent?” She hid behind a tree and watched what was happening. She watched how he set the whole place alone, lighting the tent up with candles, and she could already tell what this was.

A date.

She snapped her hands against her mouth to stop herself from making a sound. Hot tears blurred her vision, and she wondered when she’d ever be enough for him.

She was on the verge of running out of the park, hands trembling beside her as she blinked back her tears when an idea popped into her head.

“I need to know the bitch who managed to get his attention and made him treat me like a nobody,” she thought

to herself.

She brushed her tears away harshly, going back to her hiding spot so she could see clearly, when Kael left. She became even more confused and began to wonder what was happening.

A few minutes later, he came back with a petite figure beside him, and she swallowed hard. She hadn’t seen the girl’s face, but she couldn’t help but admire her physique until they stepped closer to the tent, and the dim – light of the candle made her face more obvious.

“N-Nevaeh?” She scoffed in disbelief. She lurched forward to attack her once again, when Kael began to take

off his clothes.

Her body went still. Breath raged as a surge of rage coursed through her veins. She watched the way Nevaeh’s eyes lit up in excitement, and her stomach churned aggressively.

She wanted to hurt her so badly, and made her disappear for good at the same time Kael carried her in a bridal style and jumped into the lake.

Her body shook violently and all she could think of was destroying Nevaeh for good. A tear slipped down her cheeks as she watched Kael eat Nevaeh out.

“He wouldn’t even touch me, and yet he’d willingly do all of that nasty stuff with that prude?”

She brought out her phone to record everything and reveal what they had been up to, but she couldn’t bring herself to ruin Kael’s reputation, not when he was her betrothed, so she made sure Kael’s face didn’t show as she zoomed in on Nevaeh’s face and expression.

“Let’s see how you keep up with that innocent look once I reveal your true self to the whole school.”

She ran out of the park in tears, unable to sleep a wink as she planned the worst type of humiliation to give

Nevaeh.

Nevaeh broke down in tears as soon as she saw who had come to her rescue. She wanted to believe this was all a misunderstanding and Kael didn’t know anything about it, but even if that was the case, he must have heard about what was happening to her.

“Why wouldn’t he come to help me? He’s not ashamed of facing me now, is he?”

Dread clawed the pit of her stomach, and she couldn’t help but inhale sharply. She expected Damon to laugh at her and tell her how he saw this coming. She expected him to mock her and inform her how he’d always be the best person for her, but he didn’t do any of that, instead, he turned to the students and gave them a stern warning.

“Touch a strand of her hair again, and watch how I send you to your early grave,” he said through a clenched fist.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as the students mumbled among themselves. This was what she had expected from Kael, but he was nowhere to be found when he had just promised to protect her and make sure no one hurt her.

She snorted at her own thought, and couldn’t help but feel more pathetic. Damon returned to where she laid on the floor, exhausted. They stared at each other for a while and just when she expected him to walk away and act like he didn’t see her, he bent over and carried her in his arms.

She winced in pain, but tried to get him to out her down anyway. “I can manage on my own,” she muttered, refusing to be pity, but he onky responded with a scoff.

“Have you seen yourself? Let me take you to the healer.”

Neither of them tried to say anything to each other. He took her to a healer, while Nevaeh patiently waited for Kael to show up. Even after all the humiliation she had faced, she still wanted to speak to him and hear his side of the story before reaching a conclusion.

The bell rang and Kael still didn’t show up. By the time the healer finished treating her, everywhere was already dark and all the students had gone home. Damon stood beside her, checking up on her even though he didn’t ask how she got into the situation.

“Let me drive you home,” he offered as soon as the healer said they could leave, and Nevaeh shook her head.

“You’ve done enough already. I can manage.”

She tried to stand from the bed, but collapsed from the sharp pain that shot through her body.

Damon carried her into his car despite her complaints and drove her home. She thanked him for his help and stood there until he drove off before making her way in.

She limbed into her room, panting from all the stairs she had to climb, when someone grabbed her arms and snapped the door close. She turned to see the guilt playing on Kael’s face, but she was done getting played.

She yanked her hands away from his grip, eyes burning with rage as she demanded that he leave her foom.

“What are you doing here, Kael?” She inhaled sharply, ignoring the pang in her chest. “Haven’t you done enough? Will you only be satisfied once you watched me get killed? Is that how much you hate me?”

Her chest heaved as she asked in a single breath, and Kael’s hand clenched into a fist.

He knew this was all his fault and wished he had an explanation for the video, but he was just as confused as she was.

“I didn’t-”

“Didn’t what?” She snapped, taking both of them by surprise. “Didn’t record the video or didn’t mean to give it to people that’d post it all over the school websites?”

Heat rushed to her cheeks as she recalled the haunting sound of her moans that was played in every corner of the school all day. “I trusted you Kael… you made me feel save, and clearly that was the dumbest thing

His eyes twitched into a scrowl at the sound of her words. “Is that why you called Damon? Because he’s more reliable than I am?”

Nevaeh scoffed in disbelief at how he was quick to accuse her when he was the one that just ruined everything she had worked hard for.

“Seriously? Damon? That’s all you care about?” She shook her head, and couldn’t help but feel even more pathetic for ever believing in him.

“Do you care to know what your betrothed did to me? The kind of humiliation I had to face? Does any of it even matter to you?” She raised her brows, silently hoping he’d at least apologize, but his expression only

hardened.

“So that makes it cool to run back to Damon?” He cursed under his breath, and her jaw dropped.

“The only reason he showed the little attention he did was because he couldn’t stand seeing you with Damon,”

a voice said in her head.

She gritted her teeth, nodding at his words.

“You’re even more pathetic if you think he can help you now, or he’s anyway better than me. That dude-”

“That dude stood by me when I needed you the most! That dude cared about my feelings, even when he wasn’t the one that put me in the situation. You have no right to question who I go to for help, when you’re the one who put me in a tight spot in the first place so get the fuck out of my room before I scream,” she demanded, taking Kael by surprise.
