Chapter 83
NEVAEH
The slut text written all over my room walls was enough to traumatize me for the rest of my stay in the camp. I tried to avoid unnecessary attention as much as possible, and was happy the day was going well.
I snuck out of the field where everyone was gathered, having fun while the teachers gave out instructions. Sitting among the other students made me so nervous, I was afraid of getting picked on so I decided to retreat to my room, when Mary suddenly called out my name.
“Going somewhere?” She asked with a frown, and my blood ran old.
Mary never speaks to me except she is running errands for Sabrina or is on the verge of bullying me. Either way, I have a feeling that this wouldn’t end well.
“I was…” I cleared my throat, thinking of a lie to come up with before she exposed me to the teachers. Everyone had been ordered to leave their dorms and we weren’t supposed to go back until the teachers gave us a break or something.
Of course, no one really abides by the rules, but knowing how much they enjoyed watching me suffer, a part of me feared she might snitch just to get me into trouble.
“I was just going to the restroom,” I lied, and she hummed in response. She didn’t seem to buy my lie, but at least she wasn’t asking questions anymore.
“Who cares about what you do anyway?” She scoffed before speaking again. “Sabrina said you should come and find her in the woods or she won’t hesitate to share your new video with the whole school. Left to me, I would have released it already,” she added with a smirk and my body tensed.
“W–why is she in the woods?” I raised my brows, unable to brush off the unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach.
“Why ask me when you can find out from her directly?” She said with a smug grin.
I knew there was no way they could be up to any good. They aren’t planning another prank, are they? Mary turned on her heels, swaying her hips like a Barbie on a runway show before she stopped in her tracks and turned to face me with an amused grin.
“Oh. She asked you to refuse her request if you dare.”
She left without another word, leaving me even more worried. A part of me wanted to disregard her warning and just go into my room and sleep, but the other part hesitated.
“The worst she can do is release the video. What’s there to hide anyway? Everyone has already seen my video once. I’m sure they’d get over it,” a strong voice tried to convince me, but what if she didn’t stop with just the students?
I can’t risk the videos falling into the hands of the school management or even Alpha Zane. My future will end before it even begins.
“You can’t keep giving her something to hold against you. The whole school already calls you a slut. It’s only a matter of time before the management finds out.”
Even if that was true, I couldn’t take the chances and ruin my only chance of getting into college. I’ll not only lose my scholarship. I’ll be expelled without a second chance.
Cursing my ill fate, I turned towards the woods to find Sabrina, when the teacher’s words replayed in my head.
“Don’t
go
into the woods without our consent. It’s risky out there and if you must, make sure you walk in groups.”
I turned to see the teachers already putting everyone in groups. could tell that an activity was about to follow. If I didn’t

leave now, I may not get the chance to do so afterward.
As long as I come back as soon as I finish speaking to Sabrina, they wouldn’t find out, right?
I ran into the woods before anyone could see me and went in serch of Sabrina. I didn’t expect her to go deep into the woods. I kept walking down, looking everywhere for where she sight be when I suddenly became confused.
I turned back to check where I was coming from and see if I could still find my way back. I didn’t realize how far I had come until I could no longer hear the sound of the students or catch a limpse of the hostel.
My goodness. What have I done?
Trying to trace my footprint, I stepped on a tree stump and tripled. I yelped from the pain as I rolled down the woods and landed hard on my butt.
Pain shot through my veins as I lay on the floor in tears. The leaves wave in my face. Everything felt unfamiliar and even if I screamed, I’m afraid the only thing I could attract were wide animals.
My chest heaved as I forced myself up. My knees buckled and almost gave out, when I noticed the blood trickling down my legs.
I bit my lips, trying to stay calm, as I rubbed my clammy palms against my uniform.
“It can’t be that bad. Someone will come looking for me.” I tried to give myself hope, when I suddenly recalled how invisible I was to the other students.
I could die here and no one would even notice. My heart slammed against my ribcage, as I struggled to breathe.
Footsteps echoed from a far distance and my chest tightened. I wasn’t sure if I should scream for help or stay still. My body stayed rooted to the same position, when two men suddenly appeared in front of me.
“Look who we have here,” one of them said, flashing his yellow teeth at me. Bile rushed to my throat as soon as I sensed their
scent.
Rogues.
I staggered backward, looking behind me for a weapon, but I was even more scared to use any.
“Where are you running to? Come over here, let us make you feel good,” the other one said with a smirk.
My feet kicked before I could think. I ran as fast as my legs could take me, ignoring the pain that coursed through my veins. My heart slammed against my chest, racing rapidly like it was about to explode.
My body shook violently, legs trembling as tears blurred my vision. The rogues were trailing behind me, almost catching up when I hit my leg on a stone.
I fell on my face, and the sound of their laughter rippled through the woods.
“All of that running, huh?” One of them spoke as they stopped running.
My eyes scanned the woods for help, but there was no point in souting. Everyone was silent and I was all alone.
“No need to panic. We’ll be gentle,” the other one said.
They grabbed my legs, dragging me closer. I kicked my feet in the air, trying to break free from their grip as I screamed my lungs out.
“Help!!! Somebody help!!!”

“Save your strength, darling. It’s just us here.”
They fiddled with my dress, holding me down. I snapped my eyes closed, praying the goddess would come to my rescue just this once, when a strong force yanked them off my body.
I opened my eyes to see Kael snarling at the rogues. He stood in front of me protectively, daring the rogues to take another step closer.
“He’s an Alpha,” one of the rogues pulled the other as they ran of
I exhale a breath I didn’t realize I was holding, feeling relieved that I was finally saved. For a second there, I almost thought
rogues would have their way with me, and I’ve never been happy to see Kael.
the
As soon as the rogues ran off, he turned to face me with a worried look on his face. He leaned closer, trying to help me up when I suddenly recalled why I was here.
Did he plan this with Sabrina?
Of course, he did. How else was he able to find me in the middle of nowhere? A surge of rage coursed through my veins, as my stomach twitched in disgust.
“Are you okay? Did they touch you?” He asked. His eyes scanned my body for any visible injury, and I must confess, he sure was a good actor.
“How far are you willing to go to ruin me?” My voice trembled, as I tried to blink back the tears in my face.
He leaned closer, pretending to be confused. “I’m just…”
“Just what? Playing another prank? When does this ever end?”
His eyes flickered with something unreadable. “What are you talking about? I just saved you from those rogues. I get it if you’re a bit shaken up, but why are you transferring aggression to me?”
I scoffed in disbelief. How didn’t I see through his act all along? He is a pathological liar and even a shameless actor. Why does he even bother lying when the truth is so glaring?
“You planned this with Sabrina, didn’t you? I’m not stupid, Kael. She asked me to come here and you just miraculously showed up when I was about to get molested? You’re no hero here, you’re the mastermind.”
Kael straightened, staring at me as I had finally lost it.
“Seriously? You think I’d set a trap for you and still come to save you? Is that how low you think of me?”
“Don’t even get me started,” I shot back.
He looked like he was about to argue, but soon bit his lips. “You know what? I’m not doing this with you,” he finally said.
I chuckled at his words, feeling even more disgusted at how shameless he was.
“Of course not,”
Rain began to drizzle and I knew this was my cue to leave. I had to get out of here before it started raining heavily, but the idea of him lying to my face infuriated me even more.
“We need to get out of here,” he said, reaching for my hands. I yanked his hands away angrily.
“I don’t need your help.”
I tried to leave on my own, but as soon as I took a step, I winced from the pain that shot through my veins.

“Have you seen yourself? Stop being stubborn and just take my ands already,” he demanded.
The rain was starting to get heavy, wetting down my hair and clothes, but I’d rather remain in the middle of nowhere than take his help. Brushing him off, I tried to walk again, but I could barely take a step without crying in pain.
He carried me in his arms, taking me by surprise. I slapped his arms, trying to get him to leave me but he didn’t budge.
“Unless you plan on sleeping here, stay still,” he commanded. I give in, knowing there was no way I could get back by myself when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
I opened my mouth to ask why he stopped, when he broke the silence.
“Do you know the way back?”
