Honestly, it would be better if they really broke up. Let Zachary wallow in his own mess and see how much he'd have to grovel to win her back.

Ryan sighed, continuing to eat while simultaneously sending out texts to assemble the impromptu gathering for Zachary.

By the time Zachary arrived at the private dining room, everyone else was already seated.

Zachary walked in, his gaze sweeping the table.

His brow furrowed slightly. Everyone he suspected Yvaine might be eating with was right here in this room.

So what was Yvaine doing right now? And who was she with?

Zachary walked over, took his seat, and shot Ryan a pointed look.

Sometimes, Ryan truly hated himself for being too smart. He hated how well he understood his friend. More often than not, a single glance from Zachary was all it took for Ryan to decipher exactly what was going on in his head.

Turning to Stella, Ryan smiled. "I honestly thought you wouldn't show up tonight."

Stella laughed. "You invited me. Why wouldn't I come?"

"I figured you'd be keeping Yvaine company," Ryan prompted.

Stella cast a knowing smile toward Zachary. "None of us have seen Yvaine in days."

"Yeah," Felicity chimed in. "We tried inviting her out, but she said no. I have no idea what's keeping her so busy."

Stella grinned cheekily. "Zachary, we can't get her to come out. Why don't you give it a try? It's been forever, and we really miss her."

They all knew about the explosive breakup. While they agreed Zachary had crossed a major line, they had been together for so long that her friends still harbored hopes of a reconciliation. They were more than happy to play peacemaker.

Zachary let out a cold, dismissive scoff.

"If you miss her, call her yourself," he said flatly.

Ryan gritted his teeth. The man was unbelievably stubborn.

"Fine," Felicity laughed, undeterred. "I'll call her. I really do miss her."

She pulled out her phone, dialed Yvaine's number, and put it on speaker for the table to hear.
