After work, Yvaine touched up her makeup and headed to the agreed-upon restaurant. The moment she walked in, she spotted Silas.
He sat with perfect posture, head slightly bowed as he checked his phone. His flawless side profile was already drawing frequent glances from the other diners.
Yvaine walked over.
"Hello, Mr. Sheridan." She greeted him politely.
Silas looked up, set his phone aside, and nodded. "Hello, Ms. Sterling."
He stood up, pulled out her chair, and gestured gracefully for her to sit.
Yvaine caught a glimpse of his hands. Long fingers, beautifully defined knuckles—they were incredibly striking. He was, without a doubt, an impeccably well-put-together man.
Yvaine offered a soft smile and took her seat. "Thank you."
Silas sat back down and handed her the menu. "Please, see what you'd like."
Yvaine selected two dishes and handed the menu back. Silas ordered two more and passed it to the waiter.
The waiter walked away.
Yvaine looked at Silas, feeling a slight edge of awkwardness.
This was her very first blind date. How was this supposed to go?
She had no firsthand experience, but she wasn't completely clueless. Usually, people asked about cars, real estate, career prospects...
But Silas already had all of that. She already knew the basics.
Endless luxury cars and mansions, a career as the driving force behind the Sheridan Group's expansion into Brenok, and the elite status of being the second son of the Sheridan empire...
Just as Yvaine was trying to figure out how to break the ice, Silas spoke first.
"Are you free the day after tomorrow?" he asked.
Yvaine blinked in surprise. "Excuse me?"
"My dad had a master check our astrological charts. The day after tomorrow is an exceptionally good day for us to get our marriage certificate," Silas stated calmly.
"...What?" Yvaine wondered if she had misheard.
