"Aren't you supposed to take your clothes off to shower?" Silas asked.

Realizing her massive misunderstanding, her face burned even hotter. She lowered her head, too flustered and embarrassed to even look at him.

Silas tossed aside his jacket and tie. He leaned in close, catching her eye. "Why? What did my Baby think I was getting undressed for?"

Her blush deepened. Silas was so close that his warm breath brushed against her skin when he spoke.

It only made her feel more flustered and guilty.

"To make love?"

Her eyes flew open, staring at him in shock. His gaze was burning and bright, locked onto hers. It made her heart race wildly. She gave him a gentle, nervous push. "Hurry up and go shower."

Silas let out a low chuckle, gave her one last look, and headed into the bathroom.

Only after the door clicked shut did Yvaine let out a breath. She touched her cheeks—they were absolutely scalding.

She fanned her face with her hand.

Before long, Silas finished his shower, and Yvaine took her turn.

Once she finished, she crawled into bed and immediately squeezed her eyes shut to sleep.
